<br />369 City Any resident of the City shall have the right to purchase in advance from the
<br />Code' etc. City Treasurer from time to time the scavenger tickets, in such form and for such
<br />priviesâ–ş
<br />vhen cleanedo price as shall be prescribed by the Street Committee and City Manager, and when
<br />such ticket shall be purchased the holder thereof shall be relieved for the period
<br />covered
<br />by such ticket from the
<br />duty of cleaning his
<br />privy,

<br />perform
<br />such duty at such time
<br />and in such manner as
<br />in its
<br />discretion shall seem best.

<br />to the Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia to insure them afainst
<br />possible loss thrijugh any failure of the War napartment to keep 500 men at the camp,
<br />a sum not to exceed $20,000. , it being understood that said loss shall be estimated
<br />at the rate of $1.50 per day per man for six months, for each man short of the quota
<br />or 500.

<br />Of the brick pavement to intersection of Rugby Road.
<br />Resolved, By the Common Council of Charlottesville, The Board of Aldermen
<br />concurring, That West Main Street from the west and 6f the present brick pavement
<br />to and including the intersection of Rugby Road, be improved by laying a concrete
<br />Pavement for tre full width of the Roadway, and that the sum of $7,500. , or as much
<br />thereof as may be necessary be, and hereby is appropriated upon condition that the
<br />University of Virginia contribute the amount of $2,000o toward this improvement.
