<br />and the CITY OF CtTARLOTTESVIT.LE, VIRGINIA, hereinafter for convenience styled tye Cit

<br />WITNESSETH:
<br />T14AT the City, being desirous of purchasing electric current to supply and
<br />drive electric motors and electric lights foritB new filtration plant consisting of
<br />boosting, and filter plant, located on University of Virginia, prone rty, southwest of
<br />Via City ofChar lottesville, Va; and the LigrtinFr Company being desirous of suPPlYing
<br />and selling,f suc i elactric current,
<br />NJW THEREFORE, the respective parties hereto, each in consideration of the
<br />covenants and agreements, premises and undertakings of the other, hereinafter expressed
<br />do hersi)y contract and agree as follows: --
<br />Teat the City shall furnish and install one 20 horsepower electric motor,
<br />one 40 horsepower electric motor and one 60 -horsepower electric motor, and the
<br />necessary electric lights to properly ligl t the pumping plant, filter plant and grounds,
<br />It is understood, however, that i . is not the intention of the parties to tris contract
<br />that more than 6o horrsepower shall be used at any one time, and should said city desire
<br />to use more than 60 horsepower at any one t ime it shall give s aid Lightinr► Company
<br />ten days notice in wr. i ting of its intention so to do.
<br />That the bight inr► Company spall furnish, er.ct apd maintain over the City's
<br />right-of-way a transrlission line from ,Tefferson Park Avenue to the booster pum- ing
<br />plant, and shallfurnish, install and maintain at such plant t�,e necessary transformers
<br />to properly sub ply the above electric motors.
<br />The electric current supplied by the LigAntinrT Company shallbe at a pressure
<br />of 2,200 volts, 60 cycles, three-p,iase and shallbe measured by an electric meter or
<br />:neters furnished by the LightinP Company before the said current enters the trans-
<br />forms, and payment therefor, as provided in the schedule herein below attached, shall
<br />be made on or before the 20th day of t1le succeeding month for the srfvice during each
<br />month.
<br />The Lighting Company agrees to furnish electric current to the City for its
<br />filtration plant at rhe following rates:

<br />point on the power line leading to the filtration plant where the meter of said
