4 1 AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE USE OF CITY WATER, AND IMPOSING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF. Whereas the City water supply has been di,ninishing very rapidly for some- time past and has now reached such a low point that public health and safety deman that it be most carefully conserved. Now Therefore, Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that it- be and is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to use any City Water for wgshing automobiles or other vehicles; sprinkling lawns, Streets or sidewalks, or to use City 'Vater through hose connections except for building or or construction purposes. It shall also be unlawful to willfully waste any City water or to use any city water beyond what is actually needed for lawful purposes. Any violation of this resolution ohall be punished by a fine no- less than $10.00. '11iis Ordinance shall be iffectivo from its passage. Clerk Adopted by the Council Oct. 15, 1923. Be it ordaindd by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that section 279 of the City Code entitled "False Fire Alarm" be amended and re-enacted so as to read as f of lolvs : "Any person who wantonly or without knowledge of the existance of a fire, shall turn in or give a false alarm or attempt to turn in or give any false alarm to the Fire Department or who in any way tampers with the fire alarm system shall be fined not less than x$100.00 or confined in Jail not less than 30 days or both."
