BONDS BUM E'RED 811 to 935 BOTH <br />INCLUSIVE, ;DESIGNATED AS WATER IMPEOVI� AEY2 BONDS AND TIT.: .:IdTIRE PROCEEDS IT' HiME <br />FROM APPORTION.,D TO AND SET ASIDE FOR WATER SUPPLY IIAPROVAJYT. <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 47, Virginia Acts. 1922, approved February <br />17th, 1922 reads in part as follows: <br />1 Be it enacted that the General as:,embly of Virginia hereby validates, <br />legalizes and confirms a certain ordinance adopted by the common council of the <br />City of Charlottesville, Virginia, on the ourth day of i-iay, Nineteen hundred and <br />twenty, and concurred in by the board of aldermen of tho raid City, and approved <br />by its mayor, on the seventh day of May, nineteen hundred and twenty, wherein it <br />was ordained that the said City Negotiate a loan not exceeding nine hundred and <br />fifty three thousand dollars and issue coupon bonds therfor on terms therein pre- <br />scribed, for the following municipal purposes: <br />Two hundred thousand dollars for water. <br />Fifty thousand dollars for sewers. <br />Thirty-five thousand dollars for gas. <br />Twenty-five thouo-and dollars for existing- unbonded debt. <br />Four hundred and eighty thousand dollars for streets. <br />One hu#dred and twenty five thousand dollars for Government Building. <br />Twenty thousand dollars for fire department equipment. <br />Eighteen thousand dollars for remodeling Armory. <br />And wherein it xas further ordained that the proceeds of such bonds be used ex - <br />elusively for such purposes, and that the amount apportioned for bonding floating <br />debt, for erection of a government building, for the betterment of the Fire Department <br />and for remodeling the armory should hot be inc-eased, but that any or all of these <br />four named apportionments, and if necessary, the apportionment for streets, might be <br />reduced and the sum of the reduction added to the amount; apportioned to water supply <br />improvemont, and that if not morn than two hundred thou:>and dollars be required for water <br />supply improvment any unexpended remainder of the sums apportioned to the utilities <br />named might after such utilities have been properly provided for, be assigned to <br />streets; and also validates, legalizes and confirms a certain election held on the <br />eighth day of June, nineteen hundred and twenty, pursuant to the terms of the said <br />ordinance at which time the question of the issue of said bondswas submitted to the! <br />duly qualified voters of the City of Charlottesville, and at which all of the said <br />
