Ef <br />AMENDING SECTION 538 OF THE CITY CODE, ENTITLED "GAS CONNECTIONS TO BE <br />MADE BY THE CITY. " <br />Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, that <br />Section 538 of the City :ode entitled, "Gas Connections to be made by the City" <br />be amended and reenacted so tLs to read as follows: pec. 538 GAS CONNECTIONS TO BE <br />MADE BY '2HE CITY. <br />All gas connections from gas mains to the building, including the setting <br />of all meters and repairs in the property line, shall be done by the Gas Depart- <br />ment at the expen2e of same. The property owner to pay actual cost of pipe and <br />its installation over and above 25 lineal feet from the property line. <br />Adopted by the Council September 1, 1924. <br />Ayes, Brown, Morris & Joachim, Noes None. <br />r`7 160I <br />J <br />` AN OFDINANCE AMENDING S:,CTION "D" OF aN ORDINANCE ,+;NTITLED "MOTOR VEHICTES <br />OPERATED OR USED ,OR TRANSPORTATION OF PA SSENIrERS FOR HIRE," <br />BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the City of Chatlottesvillo y <br />Section "D" of an ordinance entitled " Motor Vehicles operated or Used for the <br />Transporttation of Passangers of Hire" - Registration if such vehicles - Registra- <br />tion of Drivers of such vehicles - Bond Required - .schedule of charges, adopted <br />April 28, 1923, be amended and reenacted so as to read as follows: <br />(D) Every person, firm or corporation operating motor vehicles or <br />taxies for hire within the City of Charlottesville shall be required to give a <br />satisfactory bond in the sum of Five Liousand Dollars ($5,000.00) to cover any <br />liability that might result to person3 or property from such operations, pro- <br />vided that such bond shall not be required when the owner of such vehicle shall <br />take out an keep in force liability and property damage insurance in some <br />Company authorized to do business in this State on each motor vehicle as follows: <br />$5,000.00 for lora sustained by the insured by reason of bodily injury to, or <br />death of any one person in one accident. <br />10,000.00 for loss sustained by the insured by reason of bodily injury to or <br />death of more than one person in any one accident. <br />1,000,00 for damages to property of any person other than the assured. <br />Such policies or certificates thereof shall be deposited with the City <br />Manager. 11 <br />a <br />Adopted by the Council September 1, 1924. <br />Ayes, Brown, Morris and Joachim, Noes None. <br />4U8 <br />
