<br />BE IT ORDAINI+�D, by the Ciuneil of the City of Charlottesville
<br />that it shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to operate a gasoline or
<br />oil fillip; station for puolic service within five hundred (500) feet of any hospital,
<br />sanitarium, church, public school, or public library, in the City of Charlottesville.
<br />This ordinance shall not apply to filling; stations already in
<br />operation, or to any on Main Street* No additiorial fillip. station shall be operated
<br />on Bain Street without special permit from the City Council.
<br />Any violation of this ordinance shall be pu*ished by a fine of
<br />not less t'_ian ten dollars ($10.00) and each day such violation continues shall constitute
<br />a separate offense.

<br />BE IT OR.DAINrD, by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that
<br />Section 71, entitled "Merchants" of the 1926 Tax Ordinance, enacted April 21, 1926, be
<br />amended and reenacted so as to read as follows:
<br />Every person, firm or corporation conducting a mercantile business
<br />shill, for each separate place of business conducted in the City of Charlottesville,
<br />pay a license tax as followst
<br />$10.00

<br />If the amount of purchases shall not exceed $1,000.00 the tax shall be
<br />If the amount of purchase shall not exceed $29000.00 the tax shall
<br />If the amount of purchases shall not exceed $3,000-00 the tax shall
<br />be $25.00.
<br />And on all purchases over $3v000.00 and lei a tf,.an $10, 000.00, the tax
<br />shall be seventy cents (70#1) on the X100.00 in excesis of x3,000.00

<br />shall be sixty cents (60¢) on the $100.00 in excess of $10,000.00
