Until the <br /> <br />account of such consumer with the City shall be closed out, said. deposit shall be kept <br /> <br />unimpaired by the consumer and when the account is closed out, the balance if any, steal <br /> <br />be returned to the consumer or his personal representative, or assigns. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council January 4, 1926 <br /> <br />Ayes, Morris, Joachim and Brown, Noes None. <br /> <br />Clerk Signatrure. <br />President Signature. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR SEWER CONNECTION-APPLICATION-HOW COSTS PAID- <br /> <br />DEPOSIT REQUIRED. <br /> <br />Be it ordained by the Council of the Cily of Charlottesville Va., that the <br /> <br />property owner shall pay costs of running connecting lines from City Sewer to their pro- <br /> <br />perty line. The work shall be done by the City as heretofore and the cost thereof to be <br /> <br />paid by the property owners. The said costs shall consist of the actual costs of <br /> <br />material and labor, plus 10% for collection sikpervieion and the overhead costs. Such <br /> <br />connection shall be made only u; on application in writing on a norm provided by the <br /> <br />City Manager to whom application shall be made. A deposit must accompany the application. <br /> <br />Where excavation is to be made in hard surfaced street, the deposit shall be $50.00. In <br /> <br />all other cases the deposit shall be $20.00. The deposit will be applied on the cost of <br /> <br />the work. If the post be less than the deposit a refund of the difference will be made. <br /> <br />If the deposit proves inuefficient to cover the costs as above stated a bill will be <br /> <br />rendered the property owner for the balance. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council January 4, 1926, <br /> <br />Ayes, Morris, Joachim and Brown. THE INSTALLATION OF NEW TANKS AND PUMPS ON <br /> <br />OR UNDER PUBILC STREETS OR SIDEWALKS OF THE CITY PROHIBITED. REPAIR OR REPIA CEMENT OF <br /> <br />EXISTING PUMPS AND TANKS AUTHORIZED BEFORE DECEMBER 31, 1930. <br /> <br />Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Charlottesville as follows: <br /> <br />lst: That all tanks or pumps located on or under the public streets or <br /> <br />sidewalks in the City of Charlottesville shall be removed and the streets and sidewalks <br /> <br />restored to their former condition befor January 1, 1931, <br /> <br />2nd: The new installation of pumps or tanks on or under any public street or <br /> <br />sidewalk in the City of Charlottesville is prohibited. <br /> <br />3rd: The repair or replacement of any tanks or pumps duly authorized and now <br /> <br />located on or under any public streets or sidewalks of the City of Charlottesville may be <br /> <br />permitted by the City Manager for good cause shown, subject to the approval or disapproval <br /> <br />of the City Council. <br /> <br />4th: But no such repairs or replacements shall be authorized after December <br /> <br />31, 1930. <br /> <br />The violation of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not less than <br /> <br />$25.00 nor more than $100.00 and each day such violation continues shall consitute a <br /> <br />separate offense. <br /> <br />All ordinance or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council January 4, 1926. <br /> <br />Ayes: Morris, Joachim and Brown, Noes None. <br /> <br />Clerk Signature. <br />President Signature. <br /> <br />
