This ordinance shall be effective on and after July 1, 1930. <br />Adopted by the.Council May 19, 1930, <br />Ayes: Messrs, Brown, Watson, Morris and Twyman; <br />Noes: None* <br />er <br />es en <br />SECTION 57J ENTITLED I GOLF -- MINIATURE OR TOY THUMB1 " <br />Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that the License Tax <br />Ordinance adopted March 30, 1930, be amended by adding the following new section: <br />SECTION 57j, GOLF -- MINIATURE, TOM THUMB, ETC, <br />On every license to operate a miniature or Tom Thumb Golf Course <br />there shall be a tax of $50.00. SECTION 578 <br />OF CITY CODE AMENDED, <br />Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 578 of the <br />City Code of 1909 entitled "Dangerous Animals --Unlawful to Permit to Be at Large" be <br />amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows: <br />SECTION 578. DANGEROUS ANIMALS -- UNLAWFUL TO PERMIT TO BE AT LARGE. <br />No person, firm or corporation shall suffer or permit any animal belonging <br />to him or it or under the control of him or it and known or reasonably suspected <br />of being dangerous to go at large in the City of Charlottesville, or be kept in <br />said City at any time except in strict confinement in such manner as to be safe <br />for the public. Any violation of this section shall be punished by a fine of <br />not leas than $2.00 nor more than $25.00 and each day such animal is allowed at <br />large shall be considered a separate offense. <br />If the owner of such animal shall f ail to take it into custody after being <br />notified to do so the said animal may be killed by any police officer who may <br />deem it necessary for the safety of the public. Upon complaint or warrant allege <br />Ing that a dangerous animal is being allowed to run at large in said City, or <br />Is not being confined in such manner as to be safe for the public, the owner, or <br />person, firm or corporation in control of such animal shall be brought before the <br />civil and police justice of said city and after inquiry into the facts, such jus- <br />tice shall order such animal killed by the police department or make such further <br />disposition of the case as shall insure the future safety of the public from danger <br />from such animal, and if such owner or party in control of such animal cannot be <br />ascertained, then such animal shall be taken into custody by the police department <br />and tried and disposed of as hereinbefore provided just as if the owner or party <br />In control of such animal were present. <br />Adopted by the Council June 2, 1930. <br />Ayes: Messrs. None. <br />clerigds en <br />SECTION 288 OF THE CITY CODE OF 1909 ENTITLED <br />'BILLIARD SALOONS, POOL ROOMS, ETC,' AMENDED". <br />Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 288 of the <br />City Code of 1909 be amended and re -ordained so as to road as follows: <br />SECTION 288. BILLIARD SALOONS, POOL ROOMS, MTNIATURE GOLF COURSES, ETC. --REGULATIONS <br />CCHCERATNG. <br />All billiard saloons, pool rooms, bowling alleys, and shooting galleries shall be <br />closed evory night during the week not later than 11 Otelook and remain closed until <br />7 Otclock the following morning, Miniature Golf Courses shall be closed from Midnight <br />to 7 Otclock the following morning. <br />No gambling, betting, or gambling devises of any kind whatsoever shall be per - <br />witted at any time at any of the places named in this section, <br />Violations of this ordinance shall. be punished by a fine of not less than $5.00 <br />
