AN ORDINANCE AP.ENDING AND RE-ENACTING SECTION 37 OF THE LICENSE TAX ORDINANCE
<br />FOR THE YEAR 1934 ENTITLED "COLD STORAGE".
<br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 37
<br />of the Annual License Tax Ordinance for the year 1934 entitled "COLD STORAGE" be amended
<br />and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
<br />SEC. 37 A. COLD STORAGE PLANTS.
<br />Every person, firm, or corporation operating a cold storage plant
<br />for some purpose other than his own shall pay for the storage privelege only
<br />a license tax of fifty dollars ($50.00) per annum for each fifty thousand
<br />(50,000) cubic feet capacity or major fraction thereof, provided, that
<br />in no case shall any such license tax exceed $150.00.
<br />The foregoing amendment shall be in force and effect as of May 1, 1934,
<br />and all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

<br />AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE THE ISSUE OF $160,000.00 OF 2-r. REFUNDING RESERVOIR BONDS OF THE
<br />CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE FOR THE PURPOSE OF RFDEFMING THAT AMOUNT OF W— BONDS OF SAID CITY
<br />NOW OUTSTANDING DATED JANUARY 1, 1907, SAID SERIES OF OUTSTANDING BONDS BEING KNOWN AS TOE
<br />"NEW RESERVOIR LOAN"
<br />WHEREAS, there are now outstanding bonds of the City of Charlottesville dated
<br />January 1, 1907, and issued under an ordinance passed November 2, 1906, and spread in Minute
<br />Book D, page 132, to the amount of $160,000.00 bearing 42% interest per annum and maturing
<br />forty years after date, but subject to payment by the City at any time after ten years from
<br />their date, the whole series being known as- VNEVP RESERVOIR LOAN", which bonds are in all
<br />respects valid and legal obligations of the City, and
<br />WHEREAS, the credit of the City and present market conditions are such that an
<br />issue of 22% bonds can be effected and liquidated at par or more for the purpose of refunding
<br />and redeeming said issue, thereby reducing the annual interest charge upon said debt by 2%, and,
<br />WHEREAS, by resolution of the Council heretofore adopted at this meeting said bonds
<br />have been called for payment on July 1, 1935, in accordance with the provisions of the aforesaid
<br />ordinance authorizing the issuance of same, and,
<br />YiEREAS, full power and authority to issue said refunding bonds for the purpose of
<br />redeeming said bonds is conferred by the Charter of the City of Charlottesville, and the General
<br />Statutes of the State of Virginia, and,
