1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />C <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 435 OF THE CITY <br />CODE OF 1932, ENTITLED "CHARGES FOR KEEPING SECTIONS IN ORDER". <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section <br />435 of the City Code of 1932, entitled "Charges for Keeping Sections In Order" <br />be and the same is hereby amended and reenacted so as to read as folioi:s: <br />SEC. 455 A. Charges for Keeping Sections in Order. <br />Every owner of a section or part of a section in any Cemetery <br />in the City shall pay annually to the City Collector on the <br />first day of April the following fee, viz: For a whole section <br />$8.00; half section, $5.00; quarter section, $2.50; one-eighth <br />section, $1.50, for keeping such sections in good condition. <br />This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from the date of its <br />passage, and all ordinances, or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are <br />hereby repealed. <br />Adopted by the Council January 20, 1936. <br />Ayes: Mr. Fife, Dr. Haden, Mr. Huff, <br />Mr. Jessup and Mr. Twyman. <br />Noes: None. <br />100, Clerk President <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 437 OF THE CITY CODE <br />OF 1932, ENTITLED 'FEES FOR DIGGING GRAVES'". <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />Section 437 of the City Code of 1932, entitled "Fees for digging graves" be <br />and the same is hereby amended and reenacted, so as to read as follows: <br />SEC. 437 A. Fees for digging graves. <br />For digging a grave for a person not over three feet in height, <br />the fee shall be $3.50; for digging graves for persons over three <br />feet and not more than four and a half feet in height, the fee shall <br />be $5.00; for digging a grave for a person more than four and a half <br />feet in height, the fee shall be $10.00. An additional fee of $2.00 <br />shall be charged for any grave which is dug for installing a vault. <br />Said fees shall be paid in advance unless guaranteed by some <br />responsible person. No interment shall be made which shall disturb <br />the remains of the dead or which shall displace or injure any <br />monument or stone placed over a grave. <br />This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from the date of its <br />passage, and all ordinances, or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are <br />hereby repealed. <br />Cler <br />Adapted by the Council January 20, 1936. <br />Ayes: Mr. Fife, Dr. Haden, Mr. Huff, <br />Mr. Jessup and 1Ir.
