Adopted by the Council Feb. 19, 1940 <br />Ayes: Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Mr. Huff, <br />Mr. Jessup, and Mr. Peyton. <br />Noes: ,done. <br />resident <br />AN ORDINANCE ALIENDING SECTION 495 (1) OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF , <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE OF 1932 AS HERETOFORE AMENDED AND REENACTED, E14TITLED <br />ItZONING" 11DISTRICTS11. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 495 (1) <br />of the Code of the City of Charlottesville of 1932, as amended and reenacted by <br />ordinance adopted by the Council of the City of Charlottesville March 29, 1939, said , <br />section being the section of the general zoning ordinance establishing and defining <br />classes of districts be and the same is hereby amended in the following respects: <br />CHANGE NUMBER 1. <br />That the following described territory located within a district <br />designated on the map adopted March 29, 1939 as an A -Residence District, <br />be changed to and designated as B-1 business district: <br />Beginning at a point on the western limits of the City of Charlottes- <br />ville on the eastern margin of Cemetery Road 800 feet from the center <br />of Ivy Road also known as U. S. Route 250, thence in a northerly <br />direction along the City Limits 550 feet to a point 250 feet from the <br />center of Ivy Road, thence in an easterly direction in a line parallel <br />to the center line of Ivy Road and 250 feet distant therefrom 385 feet <br />more or less to a point 200 feet from the eastern line of the tract of <br />land conveyed to Jackson Park Hotel Company by deed of the devisees of <br />Alice S. Hotchkiss dated December 8, 1939 and recorded in the Clerkis <br />office of the Corporation Court of the City of Chariottesville in Deed <br />Book 101, page 8, thence in a line parallel to the eastern line of the <br />said property conveyed to Jackson Pari: Hotel Company as aforesaid and <br />200 feet therefrom in a southerly direction 540 feet, thence in a <br />straight line in a westerly direction 455 feet, more or less to the <br />beginning. <br />The said territory being also particularly described by a plat spread <br />in the Ordinance Book of the City of Charlottesville, where this ordinance <br />is recorded and identified by reference thereto. <br />This ordinance shall be in full force from the date of its passage, and all <br />ordinances, or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. <br />Adopted by the Council March 4, 1940 <br />Ayes: Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Mr. Huff, <br />and Mr. Peyton. <br />Noes: Non . <br />Clerk res dent <br />1 <br />L� <br />
