IN ADDITION THERE MAY BE NOT MORE THAN ONE WALL SIGN FOR EACH BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENT <br />WITHIN THE SHOPPING CENTER. <br />(E) IN B-3 BUSINESS DISTRICTS: • <br />(1) ANY SIGN PERMITTED IN A B-2 BUSINESS DISTRICT. <br />(2) SIGNS APPLICABLE TO GOODS SOLD OR SERVICES RENDERED ON THE <br />LAND OR BUILDING UPON <br />WHICH THEY ARE DISPLAYED OR STATING THE NAME OF <br />THE ESTABLISHMENT PROVIDED THAT <br />NO SUCH SIGN SHALL <br />PROJECT BEYOND THE PROPERTY LINE MORE THAN FOUR <br />INCHES. FURTHERMORE, IF SUCH SIGN <br />BE A WALL SIGN IT <br />SHALL NOT EXCEED 200 SQUARE FEET AND IF IT BE A <br />GROUND SIGN IT SHALL NOT EXCEED <br />200 SQUARE FEET NOR <br />BE MORE THAN 25 FEET IN HEIGHT. <br />(3) ROOF SIGNS SO LONG AS THEY <br />DO NOT EXCEED 100 SQUARE FEET ON <br />EACH OF TWO SIDES <br />ARE NOT USED FOR PRODUCT ADVERTISING AND ARE NOT <br />ERECTED ON BUILDINGS EXCEEDING <br />THREE STORIES OR <br />FIFTY FEET IN HEIGHT. <br />(4) PAINTED SIGNS SO LONG AS THEY DO NOT EXCEED 320 SQUARE FEET. <br />(5) PROJECTING SIGNS SO LONG AS THEY COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 27.12 2 (C). <br />(6) BILLBOARDS SO LONG AS THEY COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 27.12 2 (F). <br />(7) ONLY ONE SIGN IN ADDITION TO EITHER A PAINTED SIGN OR A WALL SIGN MAY BE ERECTED ON <br />A LOT OR BUILDING. AN ADDITIONAL PROJECTING SIGN MAY BE INSTALLED FOR EACH SECONDARY PUBLIC ENTRANCE <br />FACING ON A STREET OTHER THAN THE FRONT STREET. THIS PROVISION HOWEVER DOES NOT APPLY TO BILLBOARDS <br />WHEN ERECTED ON AN UNOCCUPIED LOT. <br />(F) IN M-1 RESTRICTED INDUSTRIAL DISTRICTS AND IN M-2 INDUSTRIAL DISTRICTS: • <br />ANY SIGN PERMITTED IN A B-3 BUSINESS DISTRICT. <br />2. ADDITIONAL REGULATIONS: <br />(A) GROUND SIGNS. <br />(1) NO GROUND SIGN SHALL BE ERECTED WITH A TOTAL LENGTH GREATER THAN 30 FEET OR TOTAL <br />HEIGHT GREATER THAN 25 FEET ABOVE THE LEVEL OF THAT PORTION OF THE STREET UPON WHICH THE SIGN FACES <br />OR ABOVE THE ADJOINING GROUND LEVEL IF SUCH GROUND LEVEL IS ABOVE SUCH STREET LEVEL. <br />(2) THE THICKNESS BETWEEN THE PRINCIPAL FACES OF ANY GROUND SIGN SHALL NOT EXCEED <br />3 FEET. <br />(B) WALL SIGNS: <br />(1) NO WALL SIGN SHALL BE ERECTED LESS THAN TEN FEET ABOVE THE SIDEWALK OR GROUND.9 <br />NOR EXTEND MORE THAN TEN FEET ABOVE THE TOP OF THE ROOF OF THE MAIN BUILDING TO WHICH IT IS ATTACHED <br />NOR EXTEND BEYOND THE ENDS OF THE WALL UNLESS IT MEETS ALL THE REQUIREMENTS FOR PROJECTING SIGNS. <br />(C) PROJECTING SIGNS: <br />(1) NO PROJECTING SIGN ERECTED OVER A SIDEWALK AREA SHALL BE LESS THAN TWELVE (12) <br />FEET ABOVE THE SIDEWALK NOR FURTHER THAN TWO (2) FEET FROM THE FACE OF THE WALL TO WHICH IT IS ATTACHED, <br />MEASURING FROM THE POINT OF THE SIGN NEAREST THERETO. NO SUCH SIGN OR PART THEREOF SHALL EXTEND NEARER <br />THE CURB LINE THAN TWO (2) FEET. NO SUCH SIGN ERECTED OVER A PUBLIC DRIVEWAY OR AN ALLEY SHALL BE LESS <br />THAN SIXTEEN (16) FEET ABOVE THE LEVEL OF SUCH DRIVEWAY OR ALLEY. <br />(2) PROJECTING SIGNS SHALL NOT EXCEED 100 SQUARE FEET ON EACH OF TWO SIDES AND WHEN <br />ANY SUCH SIGN EXTENDS OVER A SIDEWALK AREA OR OTHER PUBLIC WAY IT SHALL NOT EXCEED 45 SQUARE FEET. <br />(3) THE THICKNESS BETWEEN THE PRINCIPAL FACES OF ANY PROJECTING SIGN SHALL NOT EXCEED <br />18 INCHES. <br />(D) MARQUEES. <br />(1) MARQUEES PROJECTING BEYOND THE PROPERTY LINE SHALL BE ERECTED WITH A CLEARANCE OF <br />NOT LESS THAN NINE (9) FEET ABOVE THE ADJACENT SIDEWALK LEVEL, SHALL NOT EXCEED 3 FEET IN THE VERTICAL <br />DIMENSION AND SHALL NOT EXTEND BEYOND A VERTICAL PLANE 2 FEET INSIDE THE CURB LINE. • <br />(2) SIGNS ON A MARQUEE SHALL NOT EXCEED 20 SQUARE FEET ON ANY SIDE OR FRONT SECTION OF <br />THE MARQUEE. SUCH SIGNS MAY EXTEND ABOVE THE TOP OF THE MARQUEE PROVIDED THE VERTICAL DIMENSION OF THE <br />STRUCTURE INCLUDING BOTH MARQUEE AND SIGN SHALL NOT EXCEED THREE FEET. IF SUCH SIGNS ARE TO BE ILLUMI- <br />NATED., INDIRECT TYPE LIGHTING MUST BE USED. <br />(E) ROOF SIGNS. <br />NO ROOF SIGN SHALL EXCEED 200 SQUARE FEET IN AREA NOR EXCEED 20 FEET IN HEIGHT <br />FROM THE ROOF OF THE BUILDING TO THE TOP OF THE SIGN, NOR BE NEARER THAN 10 FEET TO A PROPERTY LINE. <br />ONLY ONE SUCH SIGN MAY BE ERECTED ON ANY BUILDING. ALL ROOF SIGNS SHALL MAINTAIN A DISTANCE OF NOT <br />LESS THAN FIVE FEET FROM THE ROOF LEVEL EXCEPT FOR NECESSARY STRUCTURAL SUPPORTS. <br />(F) BILLBOARDS. <br />BILLBOARDS SHALL NOT EXCEED 320 SQUARE FEET IN AREA NOR SHALL THEY BE STACKED <br />HIGHER THAN 29 FEET IN HEIGHT. MORE THAN ONE BILLBOARD MAY BE ERECTED ON AN UNOCCUPIED LOT. <br />3. SIGNS NOT TO CONSTITUTE TRAFFIC HAZARD <br />NO SIGN SHALL BE LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF ANY STREETS IN SUCH A MANNER AS TO OBSTRUCT <br />FREE OR CLEAR VISION OR AT ANY LOCATION WHERE, BY REASON OF THE POSITION, SHAPE OR COLOR, IT MAY INTER- <br />FERE WITH, OBSTRUCT THE VIEW OF OR BE CONFUSED WITH ANY AUTHORIZED TRAFFIC SIGN, SIGNAL OR DEVICE. NO <br />SIGN SHALL MAKE USE OF THE WORDS "STOP". "LOOK".. "DANGER" OR ANY OTHER WORDS PHRASE, SYMBOL OR CHARACTER • <br />THAT MAY INTERFERE WITH; MISLEAD OR CONFUSE TRAFFIC. <br />SECTION 27.13 - WIND LOADS. <br />THE EFFECT OF LOCAL WIND PRESSURES SHALL BE THOROUGHLY CONSIDERED IN THE DESIGN AND INSTALLATION <br />OF ALL SIGNS.
