• <br />§ 16A-23 LICENSES § 16A-26 <br />chapter, shall upon conviction thereof be fined not less than <br />twenty-five dollars nor more than five hundred dollars or con- <br />fined in jail for not more than six months, or both, in the dis- <br />cretion of the court or jury. <br />All ordinances or parts of ordinances relating to licenses <br />in conflict with this chapter are hereby repealed. (4-7-69, § <br />90.) <br />• Article II. Specific Businesses, Professions and <br />Occupations. <br />Sec. 16A-23. Advertising distributors. <br />Every person engaged in distributing advertisements for <br />other parties than citizens of the city shall be known as ad- <br />vertising distributors, and shall pay an annual license tax of <br />twenty dollars. By advertising distributors, it is intended to <br />designate any person who distributes in the city, almanacs, <br />pamphlets or samples of medicine or other merchandise on the <br />streets or from house to house in the city. (4-7-69, § 1.) <br />Sec. 16A-24. Agents—Generally. <br />On all agents not otherwise provided for, the license tax <br />shall be fifteen dollars. (4-7-69, § 5.) <br />Sec. 16A-25. Same—Books. <br />On every agent for sale of books, maps, pictures, periodi- <br />cals, printed pamphlets or canvassers for the same, other than <br />religious work, the annual license fee shall be fifteen dollars. <br />This license is not transferable. (4-7-69, § 3.) <br />Sec. 16A-26. Same—Books of coupons. <br />• On every person or firm and on every agent of any person <br />or firm selling coupon books to any other person or firm in <br />this city which advertises for others and which entitles the <br />possessor of such book or coupons to receive services or mer- <br />chandise from the advertiser at no charge or at a reduced <br />rate or charge, there shall be imposed a license tax of two <br />hundred and fifty dollars.
