§ 16A-39 CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY CODE § 16A-41 <br />with plain water or with aerated or carbonated water, when <br />the output of the plant is one hundred cases or less per day <br />the license tax shall be seventy-five dollars, and when the out- <br />put of the plant is in excess of one hundred cases per day, in <br />addition to such sum of seventy-five dollars, thirty-five dollars <br />for each additional one hundred cases of output or fraction <br />thereof. The output of such plant shall be considered the av- <br />erage daily output of the plant, counting working days only, <br />for the preceding calendar year. In the case of new plants the • <br />output shall be estimated and any underestimate shall be sub- <br />ject to correction at the end of the year. (4-7-69, § 17.) <br />Sec. 16A-39. Brokers in stocks, bonds, bills and options or fu- <br />tures. <br />Every person, firm or corporation conducting the business <br />of stock, bond, note or bill broker or engaged in the business <br />of receiving orders to buy or sell cotton, grain provisions or <br />other commodities shall be deemed to be a broker dealing in <br />options or futures and shall pay a license tax of twenty-five <br />dollars and if the gross amount of gross fees and commissions <br />exceeds two thousand dollars the tax shall be fifty cents on <br />each one hundred dollars in addition thereto. (4-7-69, § 18.) <br />Sec. 16A-40. Building and loan association. <br />Specific license tax upon purely mutual companies lending <br />only to stockholders, and confining its business solely to the <br />city and county in which organized and counties and cities im- <br />mediately contiguous thereto, shall be fifty dollars. <br />Specific license tax upon paid-up stock, or partially paid-up <br />stock, to value of twenty-five thousand dollars or less, shall be <br />seventy-five dollars; and a further sum of two dollars upon <br />each additional one thousand dollars or fractional part there- <br />of, so paid up. <br />The commissioner shall require statement under oath of • <br />capital paid in. (4-7-69, § 19.) <br />Sec. 16A-41. Buyers of gold and silver. <br />Every buyer of gold and silver shall pay for the privilege of <br />doing business in the city a license tax of fifty dollars; pro- <br />vided, that this license tax shall not apply to licensed jewelry <br />merchants purchasing old gold and silver at their place of <br />business.
