WRIGHT. <br />NOES: NONE. <br />PRESIDENT <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDA IN A PORTION OF <br />SECTION 6 OF APPENDIX I TO PROVIDE A TIME LIMIT <br />SET IN WHICH THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT SHALL REVIEW <br />CERTAIN PLATS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE THAT THE FIRST PARAGRAPH OF <br />SECTION 6 OF APPENDIX I IS HEREBY AMENDED AND REORDAINED TO READ AS FOLLOWS: <br />• <br />CLERK <br />PRESIDENT <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDA IN SECTION 7 <br />SUBSECTIONS A AND B OF APPENDIX I TO PERMIT THE <br />PLANNING DIRECTOR TO APPROVE CERTAIN SUBDIVISION PLATS <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE THAT SECTION 7 SUBSECTIONS A AND B <br />IS HEREBY AMENDED AND REORDAINED TO READ AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 7. APPROVAL AND RECORDATION OF PLATS <br />(A) APPROVAL OF PRELIMINARY PLAT. THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION AND THE ALBEMARLE COUNTY PLANNING <br />COMMISSION SHALL INDICATE APPROVAL OR DISAPPROVAL OF ALL SUBDIVISIONS WITHIN THEIR JURISDICTION, <br />RECEIVED FOR CONSIDERATION WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS FROM THE DATE OF THE FIRST MEETING FOLLOWING THE <br />FILING OF THE PRELIMINARY PLAT. APPROVAL OF A PRELIMINARY PLAT DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A FINAL APPROVAL <br />OF THE PLAT AND SHALL BE VALID FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR, BUT MAY BE EXTENDED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />HAVING JURISDICTION. FOR THE DIVISION OF PROPERTY INTO TEN (10) LOTS OR FEWER, THE PLANNING DIRECTOR <br />IS AUTHORIZED AND MAY APPROVE AND SIGN THE PLAT ADMINISTRATIVELY FOR THE PLANNING COMMISSION, AND HE <br />(OR SHE) SHALL BE ALLOWED UP TO TEN (10) DAYS TO REVIEW AND APPROVE OR DISAPPROVE SAME. THEREAFTER <br />THE PLANNING DIRECTOR SHALL AT THE NEXT REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION PRESENT A LIST OF <br />THOSE PLATS REVIEWED ADMINISTRATIVELYy INDICATING ACTION TAKEN. IF IN THE EVENT A PLAT IS DISAPPROVED <br />BY THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT, AN APPEAL MAY BE TAKEN TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION AND SUCH APPEAL MAY BE <br />ALLOWED AT THE NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING. <br />(B) APPROVAL OF FINAL PLAT. THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION AND THE CITY ENGINEER, THE ALBEMARLE <br />COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION AND BOARD OF SUPERVISORS IN ADDITION, SHALL INDICATE APPROVAL OR DISAPPROVAL <br />OF ALL SUBDIVISIONS RECEIVED FOR CONSIDERATION WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS FROM THE DATE OF THE FIRST <br />• <br />MEETING FOLLOWING THE FILING OF THE FINAL PLAT. APPROVAL OF A FINAL PLAT SHALL BE VOID UNLESS THE <br />APPROVED PLAT IS RECORDED WITHIN A PERIOD OF SIX (6) MONTHS. FOR THE DIVISION OF PROPERTY INTO TEN (10) <br />SECTION 6. FINAL <br />PLAT <br />FOR SUBDIVISIONS <br />INVOLVING MORE THAN TEN (10) LOTS <br />A SUBDIVIDER SHALL FILE THE ORIGINAL LINEN <br />TRACING AND TEN (10) PRINTS <br />THEREOF OF THE FINAL PLAT PREPARED <br />BY A SURVEYOR OR CIVIL ENGINEER <br />LICENSED BY THE STATE <br />AND SUPPORTING DATA LISTED HEREIN, <br />WITH THE OFFICE OF THE CITY PLANNING <br />• <br />DEPARTMENT AT LEAST TEN <br />10DAYS PRIOR TO THE MEETING AT <br />WHICH THE PLAT IS TO BE CONSIDERED. THE <br />PLAT SHALL BE DRAWN AT <br />A SCALE OF TWO HUNDRED (POO) FEET <br />TO THE INCH UNLESS OTHERWISE APPROVED BY <br />THE PLANNING DIRECTOR. <br />THE MAXIMUM SHEET SIZE SHALL BE <br />ELEVEN (11) BY SEVENTEEN (17) INCHES.
