PK. <br />AVENUE. <br />COUNTY WATER <br />CONNECTIONS <br />SCHOOL BOARD <br />MEMBERS <br />COMMUNICATION RE: <br />ROUTE #302. <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER - JUNE 20, 1949 <br />THE COUNCIL MET IN REGULAR SESSION ON THIS DATE WITH THE FOLLOWING <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: MR. ADAMS, NIR. BARR, MR. HADEN9 MR. HAMM AND MR. TEBELL. <br />THE MINUTES OF THE MEETINGS OF JUNE 6, 1949 AND JUNE 102 1949 WERE <br />READ AND APPROVED. <br />MR. SIDNEY WATSON, REPRESENTING HEDGES AND WOODWARD, PHYSICIANS, <br />APPEARED BEFORE THE COUNCIL AND REQUESTED THAT AN EFFORT BE MADE TO <br />REACH AN AGREEMENT CONCERNING A LOT LINE ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF MARKET <br />STREET. THE CITY ENGINEER EXPLAINED THAT THE ORIGINAL PLAT FOR THE <br />CITY PROVIDED FOR A SIXTY-SIX FOOT STREET, HOWEVER, A RECENT SURVEY <br />INDICATED AN ENCROACHMENT INTO THE STREET OF CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNERS <br />ALONG THE SOUTH SIDE OF r0ARKET STREET, BETWEEN SECOND STREET EAST AND <br />SECOND STREET WEST. THE CITY ENGINEER ALSO PRESENTED A MAP SHOWING A <br />PROPOSED "COMMON LINE" Bt.SED ON THE SURVEY AND AN EXAMINATION OF DEEDS. <br />ON MOTION BY MR. ADAMS, SECONDED BY MR. HADEN, THE CITY MANAGER WAS <br />REQUESTED TO DETERMINE IF THE PROPOSED "COMMON LINE", AS INDICATED ON <br />THE MAP PREPARED BY THE CITY ENGINEER, IS AGREEABLE TO ALL OF THE <br />ENCROACHING PROPERTY OWNERS IN THE TV10 AFFECTED BLOCKS ALONG THE SOUTH <br />SIDE OF MARKET STREET. <br />ON MOTION BY MR. HAMIA9 SECONDED BY MR. HADEN, A PROPOSAL TO CHANGE <br />FROM "CTT INDUSTRIAL TO "ATT RESIDENCE AN AREA SOUTH OF THE COLONIAL <br />HEIGHTS SUBDIVISION WAS REFERRED TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION FOR STUDY <br />AND RECOMMENDATION. <br />ON MOTION THE REPORT OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION, WHICH WAS PRESENTED <br />AT THE MEETING Of APRIL 189 19499 RELATIVE TO CHANGING FROM "ATT RESIDENCE <br />TO TTA -111 RESIDENCE A STRIP ALONG 16TH STREET WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED. <br />A COMMUNICATION WAS PRESENTED REQUESTING THAT A SPEED LIMIT OF <br />TWENTY MILES PER HOUR BE ENFORCED AT THE INTERSECTION OF ROUTE # 29 AND <br />JEFFERSON PARK AVENUE NEAR STADIUM ROAD. THE CITY MANAGER EXPLAINED <br />THAT THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT HAD NEARLY COMPLETED A SURVEY ON <br />TRAFFIC AT THIS INTERSECTION AND THAT THEIR REPORT WOULD BE SUBMITTED IN <br />THE VERY NEAR FUTURE. ON MOTION, ACTION ON THIS (MATTER WAS DEFERRED <br />PENDING THE REPORT OF THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT. <br />ON MOTION BY MR. HADEN. SECONDED BY MR. BARR. THREE (3) COUNTY <br />WATER CONNECTIONS AND THREE (3) COUNTY SEWER CONNECTIONS WERE APPROVED <br />FOR MR. F. C. THACKER ON PALATINE AVENUE. <br />MR. ADAMS NOMINATED DR. C. J. FRANKEL AS A MEMBER OF THE SCHOOL <br />BOARD FOR A TERM OF THREE YEARS COMMENCING JULY 11 1949. THIS <br />NOMINATION WAS SECONDED BY MR. HADEN. MR. BARR NOMINATED DR. J. A. <br />JACKSON AS A MEMBER OF THE SCHOOL BOARD FOR THE SAME PERIOD. DR. FRANKEL <br />WAS ELECTED BY A VOTE OF FOUR TO ONE, <br />MR. HAMM NOMINATED MR. H. W. WALSH AS A MEMBER OF THE SCHOOL BOARD <br />FROM THE FOURTH WARD FOR A TERM OF THREE YEARS COMMENCING JULY 1, 1949. <br />MR. VVALSH WAS UNANIMOUSLY ELECTED. <br />A COMMUNICATION WAS PRESENTED FROM MR. BURTON MARYE, JR., ASSISTANT <br />STATE ENGINEER, OF THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT, POINTING OUT THAT THE <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTED BY THE COUNCIL ON JUNE 6, 1949 IN REGARD TO ROUTE #3(�2 <br />
