BARR, THE FOLLOWING <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE THAT THE REQUEST OF THE AMERICAN <br />RESOLUTION RE: <br />WAIVER OF TAX DENIED LEGION ASKING WAIVER OF THE FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS <br />($400.00) PER DAY LICENSE TAX ON CARNIVALS BE AND <br />THE SAME IS HEREBY DENIED. <br />THE REQUEST OF MRS. I RLENE [A. WOOD REGARDING TAX ON ONE -CENT <br />VENDING MACHINES, WHICH WAS CARRIED OVER FROM THE LAST REGULAR MEETING, <br />REQUEST OF MRS. V400D <br />CARRIED OVER WAS AGAIN PRESENTED. A MOTION BY MR. CARR, SECONDED BY MR. ADAMS, THAT <br />THIS MATTER BE CARRIED OVER UNTIL SUCH TIME AS THE NEW LICENSE TAX <br />ORDINANCE IS CONSIDERED, WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED. <br />APPLICATIONS TO OPERATE FILLING STATIONS FROM MR. C. L. RAY AND <br />FILLING STATIONS THE VANCE BUICK COMPANY AT 500 - 8TH STREET, N. W. AND PRESTON AVENUE <br />APPLICATIONS PRESENTED. <br />AND 9TH STREET, N. W., RESPECTIVELY, WERE PRESENTED. <br />ON MOTION THE MATTER PERTAINING TO COMMERCIAL DISPOSAL UNITS <br />WAS CARRIED OVER TO THE NEXT MEETING. <br />THE CITY MANAGER REPORTED THAT PURSUANT TO ACTION OF THE COUNCIL <br />AT ITS LAST REGULAR MEETING HE HAD CONTACTED THE VIRGINIA GAS TRANSMISSION <br />i <br />RESOLUTION WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE THAT $26.63 BE AND THE <br />SAME IS <br />APPROPRIATION RE: <br />REFUND TAXES <br />HEREBY APPROPRIATED FOR REFUND OF PERSONAL <br />PROPERTY <br />TAX IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOREGOING LIST. <br />THE MAYOR REPORTED THAT IN ACCORDANCE <br />WITH ACTION OF THE COUNCIL <br />AT ITS LAST REGULAR MEETING, HE HAD CONFERRED <br />INDIVIDUALLY WITH CERTAIN <br />MEMBERS OF THE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS <br />RELATIVE TO THE REQUEST OF <br />MAYOR REPORTS RE: <br />THE AMERICAN LEGION CONCERNING THE SHOWING <br />OF A CARNIVAL DURING THE WEEK <br />AMERICAN LEGION <br />CARNIVAL <br />OF M -AY 8TH - 13TH. HE STATED THAT MEMBERS <br />OF THIS BODY WERE OPPOSED TO <br />THE RELAXATION OF THE LICENSE TAX APPLYING <br />TO CARNIVALS. AFTER CONSIDER- <br />ABLE DISCUSSION AND ON MOTION BY MR. HADEN, <br />SECONDED BY MR. HAMM, THE <br />FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS ADOPTED BY THE FOLLOWING <br />RECORDED VOTE: MR. <br />ADAMS, MR. HADEN $ MR. H AMM AND MR. TEBELL. <br />NOES: MR.
