304 <br />THE CITY MANAGER PRESENTED A COMMUNICATION FROM THE <br />STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH WHICH REQUESTED THAT THIS CITY <br />SUBMIT TO THAT AGENCY THE ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND GOVERNING • <br />COMMUNICATION RE: THE FLUORIDATION OF WATER IN ORDER THAT THEY MIGHT ACT <br />STATE DEPT. OF HEALTH - <br />FLUORINE IN WATER SUPPLY PROMPTLY ON THE CITY'S REQUEST FOR THEIR APPROVAL FOR USE <br />OF FLUORINE IN THE WATER SUPPLY. THE COMMUNICATION FURTHER <br />REQUESTED TH�.T RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE LOCAL MEDICAL AND DENTAL <br />SOCIETIES ALSO BE SUBMITTED. <br />AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND RE- <br />ENACTING <br />E- <br />ENACTING CHAPTER 15 OF THE CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY CODE OF 1945 <br />ORDINANCE RE: BY THE ADDITION THERETO OF A NEW SECTION NUMBERED SECTION 23 <br />FLUORIDATION CARRIED <br />OVER ENTITLED 'FLUORIDATION " <br />, WAS OFFERED BY MR. HADEN, <br />� k; r If; <br />SECONDED BY MR. H ILL, AND CARRIED OVER TO THE NEXT MEETING. <br />ON MOTION BY NIR. HADEN, SECONDED BY MR. H i LL, THE <br />FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF CHARLOTTESVILLE THAT X150.00 OR AS MUCH THERE - <br />APPROPRIATION: <br />VOLUNTEER FIREMEN TAGS OF AS MAY BE NECESSARY BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY <br />APPROPRIATED FOR CITY AUTO LICENSES FOR VOLUNTEER <br />FIREMEN. <br />MONTHLY REPORT OF THE WELFARE DEPARTMENT FOR THE MONTH <br />OF FEBRUARY, 19519 WAS PRESENTED AND ORDERED FILED WITH THE <br />MINUTES OF THIS MEETING. <br />A PETITION FROM CERTAIN RESIDENTS OF CARROLTON TERRACE <br />REQUESTING THAT THE CITY PREPARE AN ESTIMATE OF THE COST TO <br />IMPROVE CARROLTON TERRACE TO CONFORM TO THE STANDARDS <br />PETITION RE: NECESSARY FOR ITS ACCEPTANCE INTO THE CITY STREET SYSTEM, <br />CARROLTON TERRACE <br />WAS PRESENTED. ON MOTION, THE CITY MANAGER WAS REQUESTED <br />TO PREPARE AN ESTIMATE OF THE COST TO CONSTRUCT CARROLTON <br />TERRACE TO MEET THE SPECIFICATIONS NECESSARY FOR ITS <br />ACCEPTANCE INTO THE CITY STREET SYSTEM AND TO SO INFORM <br />PURSUANT TO THE FOLLOWING CALL: <br />MR. B. <br />REQUESTING USE OF THE FIRST <br />FLOOR OF THE JEFFERSON ELEMENTARY <br />DAY NURSERY RE: USE OF <br />JEFF.
