OF SUPPLYING CONSUMERS ALONG THE LINE PROVIDED SUCH TAPS <br />DO NOT INTERFERE WITH AN ADEQUATE SUPPLY TO THE SCHOOL. <br />WATER USED AT THE SCHOOL WILL BE METERED AT THE SCHOOL <br />AND PAID FOR BY THE COUNTY AT REGULAR CITY RATES. IN THE <br />EVENT, DUE TO WIDENING OR CHANGE IN THE LOCATION OF THE <br />HIGHWAYS ALONG WHICH 1T IS PROPOSED THE PIPE BE LAID, <br />IT BECOMES NECESSARY TO RELOCATE SAID LINE, COST OF <br />SUCH RELOCATION WILL BE BORNE BY THE COUNTY. <br />DR. S. D. STURK I E, OF THE JOINT HEALTH DEPARTMENT, AND <br />REPRESENTATIVES OF LOCAL MEDICAL AND DENTAL SOCIETIES, APPEARED BEFORE <br />THE COUNCIL AND PRESENTED PROPOSAL FOR THE FLUORIDATION OF WATER. AFTER <br />PROPOSAL FOR CONSIDERABLE DISCUSSION, AND ON MOTION DULY MADE AND SECONDED, THE <br />FLUORIDATION OF <br />WATER PRESENTED CITY ATTORNEY WAS REQUESTED TO COMMUNICATE WITH OTHER LOCALITIES <br />EMPLOYING FLUORIDATION TO ASCERTAIN THEIR EXPERIENCE IN THIS FIELD AND, <br />ALSO, WHAT HAD BEEN THE LEGAL REMEDY IN THE EVENT ANY PERSONAL ADVERSE <br />EFFECTS WERE STATED TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THE PRESENCE OF FLUORIDE IN <br />THE WATER SUPPLY. <br />THE STREET COMMITTEE REPORTED THAT IT HAD STUDIED THE MATTER REFERRED <br />TO IT AT THE LAST REGULAR MEETING WITH REFERENCE TO THE WIDENING OF <br />SHAMROCK ROAD TO ITS FULL WIDTH* THE COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED THAT THE <br />ST, COMM. REPORTS CONDITIONS SET FORTH IN A REPORT ADOPTED AT THE DECEMBER 4 1950 MEETING <br />RE: WIDENING OF <br />SHAMROCK ROAD BE FULFILLED AS 1T WAS NOT BELIEVED THAT THE 1,'jIDENING OF SHAMROCK ROAD <br />TC ITS FULL WIDTH WOULD JUSTIFY THE EXPENSE INVOLVED. A MOTION BY MR. <br />TEBELL, SECONDED BY MR. BARR, THAT THE COMMITTEE'S REPORT IN THIS INSTANCE <br />BE ACCEPTED, WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED. <br />ON MOTION BY MR. HADEN, SECONDED BY MR. HILL, THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION <br />WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE <br />APPROPRIATION RE: THAT $700.00 BE AND THE SAME IS HERESY APPROPRIATED TO MESSRS. <br />700.00 - PLANS WHEELER AND SAUNDERS FOR EXPENSES INCURRED IN THE PREPARATION <br />RIVANNA SEWAGE <br />TREATMENT PLANT OF PLANS FOR THE RIVANNA SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT. <br />ON MOTION SY MR. BARR, SECONDED BY MR. HADEN, THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION <br />WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL of THE CITY of <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE THAT THE CITY MANAGER BE, AND HE IS <br />RESOLUTION RE: HEREBY AUTHORIZED TO AGREE WITH E. L. KNIGHT WITH <br />WATER AND GAS LINES RESPECT TO INSTALLATION OF WATER AND GAS LIMES <br />IN SUBDIVISION <br />LOCUST AVE. TO SERVING A PORTION OF THE SUBDIVISION NOW BEING <br />ST. CHARLES STREET. <br />DEVELOPED BY HIM, THAT SUCH LINES WILL BE CONSTRUCT- <br />ED UPON DEPOSIT BY THE SAID E. L. KNIGHT WITH THE <br />CITY OF THE ENTIRE COST THEREOF AND UPON COMPLETION <br />OF SAID LINES AND COMPLETION OF THE STREETS IN THE <br />SUBDIVISION IN WHICH SUCH LINES ARE INSTALLED, THE <br />CITY WILL REFUND TO E. L. KNIGHT A SUM EQUAL TO TWO- <br />THIRDS <br />WO- <br />THIRDS OF THE COSTS OF CONSTRUCTION OF THE LINES FROM <br />LOCUST AVENUE TO ST. CHARLES STREET AND ONE-HALF OF <br />THE COSTS OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE RESIDUE OF SAID <br />LINES, IT BEING UNDERSTOOD THAT THE CITY IS PAYING A <br />LARGER PROPORTION OF THE COST FROM LOCUST AVENUE TO <br />r� <br />U <br />1 <br />
