TRUCKS IN RESIDENTAL AREAS. <br />BY ORDER OF <br />LERK ----PRESIDENT �~ <br />THE COUNCIL MET IN SPECIAL SESSION ON THIS DATE WITH THE FOLLOWING MEMBERS <br />PRESENT: MR. HADEN, MR. HAMM, MR. HILL, MR. TEBELL AND MR. WEINBERG. ABSENT: NONE. <br />A COMMUNICATION FROM THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT STATING THAT THE LOW <br />BIDDER FOR THE ROUTE 250 DISTRIBUTION ROAD WAS THE FAULCONER CONSTRUCTION COMPANY <br />AND S. L. WILLIAMSON COMPANY, INC., JOINTLY AND THAT THE HIGHWAY COMMISSION HAD <br />AWARDED THE CONTRACT TO THIS FIRM SUBJECT TO THE CONCURRENCE BY THE CITY OF <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE AND THE BUREAU OF PUBLIC ROADS. <br />THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION, OFFERED BY MR. TESFLL, SECONDED BY MR. HILL, WAS <br />UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THF COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE <br />THAT THE AWARDING OF A CONTRACT TO'THF FAULCONER CONSTRUCTION <br />' COMPANY AND S. L. WILLIAMSON COMPANY, INC., FOR THE CONSTRUCTION <br />OF THE ROUTE 25C DISTRIBUTION ROAD WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS, BY <br />THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT, BE AND THE SAME 15 HEREBY APPROVED, <br />THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS OFFERED BY MR. HADEN, SECONDED BY MR. WEINBERG, <br />AND CARRIED OVER TO THE NEXT MEETING FOR FINAL_ ACTION: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE <br />THAT $1769500.009 OR AS MUCH THEREOF AS MAY BE NECESSARY, BE AND <br />THE SAME IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED TO SUPPLEMENT APPROPRIATIONS <br />HERETOFORE MADE, TO COVER THE CITY'S PROPORTIONATE PART OF THE <br />COSTS OF CONSTRUCTING THE POUTE 250 DISTRIBUTION ROAD, OBTAINING ' <br />' RIGHTS OF WAY, AND RELOCATING THE WATER, GAS AND SEWER LINES FOR <br />THIS PROJECT. <br />A MATTER WITH RESPECT TO THE USE OF STREETS IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS BY TRUCKS <br />WAS PRESENTED, AND ON MOTION BY MR. HADEN, SECONDED BY MR. HILL, WAS REFERRED <br />TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION FOR STUDY AND REPORT BY THE FOLLOWING RECORDED VOTE: <br />AYES: MR. HADEN, MR. HILL,'MR. TEBELL, MR. WEINBERG. NOES: MR. HAMM. <br />A MOTION BY MR. HADEN, SECONDED BY MR. HILI.., THAT UNANIMOUS ODNSENT BE <br />GIVEN TO CONSIDER A MATTER WITH RESPECT TO AN ENTRANCE TO SERVE PROPERTY OF <br />.JOHN A. GILMORE, BETWEEN PARK STREET AND MCINTIRE ROAD, WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED, <br />THE CITY ATTORNEY ADVISED THAT. NEGOTIATIONS TO ACQUIRE THE NECESSARY LAND FROM <br />.JOHN A. GILMORE FOR THE ROUTE # 250 DISTRIBUTION ROAD WERE NEAR COMPLETION, <br />HOWEVER, FINAL EXECUTION OF THE CONTRACT WAS BEING HELD IN ABEYANCE PENDING <br />THE ASSURANCE BY THE CITY TO MR. GILMORE OF AN ENTRANCE OF SUFFICIENT WIDTH <br />FOR A ROAD TO SERVE THE REMAINING PROPERTY. ON MOTION BY MR. HILL, SECONDED <br />BY MR. HADEN, THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS ADOPTED BY THE FOLLOWING RECORDED <br />VOTE: AYES: MR. HADEN, MR. HAMM, MR. HILL AND MR. WEINBERG. NOES: MR. TEBELL: <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE <br />THAT THE CITY MANAGER BE INSTRUCTED TO WRITE MR. JOHN A. GILMORE A <br />LETTER ADVISING THAT IF THE CITY AUTHORITIES EVER REQUIRE AN <br />ENTRANCE TO THIS PROPERTY WIDER THAN IS PERMITTED IN THE SPACE <br />LEFT BETWEEN THE WESTERN TOE OF THE FILL AND THE WESTERN BOUNDARY <br />OF HIS PROPERTY IT WILL FURNISH HIM THE ADDITIONAL NECESSARY SPACE <br />
