Gentlemen: <br />In accordance with your instructions, I have investigated <br />the request of the owners of the Oak Lawn Land Corporation to fix the <br />southern bounciary line of Cherry Avenue adjoining their property and, <br />inasmuch as there see::ls to be a considerable uncertainty as to whether <br />this street is fifty (50) feet in width or sixty-nine (69) feet in width <br />at this point, it is my recommendation that the width be fixed at sixty <br />(60) feet; and tnat the City ana Oak Lawn Lana Corporation sign an agree- <br />ment deed to this effect. Therefore, I have requested IJr. W. 0. Fife to <br />prepare the necessary papers. <br />SB: gbh <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Seth Burnley (signed) <br />City Manager <br />On motion by Mr. Gleason seconaed by Mr. Tebeil, the following resolution was <br />unanimously adopted: <br />Approp- BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />riation Lock- <br />up cells in 4630.00, or as mucri thereof as may be necessary, be ana the same is hereby <br />Police Station <br />appropriated for installing additional lock-up cells in the t'olice Station. <br />A communication from the Planning Board recommending that I'dr. Garland A. Wood <br />Planning <br />Engineer be employed as Planning Engineer at a cost of approximately ;x35.00 per day. On <br />motion by Mr. Gleason this matter was carried over to the next meeting for considera- <br />tion. <br />On motion by !,jlr. Tebell, seconaed by iAr. Watson, the following resolution was <br />off erea and carried over to the next meeting for consiueration: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />X1,000.00, or as much thereof as may be necessary, be gnu the same is hereby <br />Changes in appropriated to alter the rooms in the south end of the second floor of the <br />City Hall <br />City Hall to enable the moving of the Council Chamber, and to make certain <br />improvements in the mens' lavatory. <br />Pension - On motion by Ir. Nash, seconded by 1r. 4vatson, the Director of Finance was <br />Widow of Conf. . <br />Veteran instructed to pay Mrs. Amanda J. V�eymouth, Wiaow of a Confederate Veteran, a pension <br />of $50.00. <br />Street On motion a petition for a street light on Montebello Circle was referred to the <br />Light <br />Mayor and City Manager with power to act. <br />A communication from Dean J. N. G. Finley urging the Council to establish rent <br />Rent control in the event 0. P. A. Rent Control is eliminated. On motion this matter was <br />Control <br />referred to the City httorney for investigation and report. <br />On motion the Council went into Executive Session by the following recorded <br />vote. Ayes: Mr. Adams, 1dr. Gleason, Mr. Nash, .6ir. Tebell, and &Ir. Vuatson. Noes:None. <br />A motion by Mr. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Nash, that a committee be appointed to <br />Property on <br />Preston Ave. investigate the possibility of acquiring property on Preston Avenue for the exten- <br />sion of Page Street was unanimously aaoptea. The 1ayor appointee iAr. Watson and Mr. <br />Gleason to serve on this committee. <br />On motion the meeting adjourned. <br />President <br />
