500 <br />Lot on <br />The committee to study the advisability of selling the small lot on Ware Street <br />Ware St. <br />to Frank Ix & Sons, advised that in their opinion this lot should be sold and that <br />the price should be $300.00. On motion by ivlr. Gleason, seconded by Mr. dash, this <br />report was unanimously adoptea and the 14ayor was authorized to execute deed in the <br />event the offer is accepted. <br />A communication from the Chairman of the City Library Board in regard to a <br />Bookmobile bookmobile for the County of Albemarle was presented and on motion referred to a. <br />committee for investigation and report. The Mayor appointed 4r. Gleason, Mr. Nash <br />and the City IVIanager to serve on this co_imittee. <br />On Notion by Mr. Gleason, seconded by 'Mr. Nash, a petition for gas line on <br />Gas Line - <br />Carolina Ave. Carolina Avenue was referred to the City Manager for investigation and report. <br />A motion by Mr. Watson, seconded by Thr. Gleason, that the City Managert s office <br />be moved upstairs in the City Hall, and that the downstairs be rearranged in accord- i <br />Changes in <br />Gity Hall ante with the wishes of the Treasurer, Commissioner of Revenue, and the Director of <br />Finance, was unanimously adopted. <br />The mayor advised that he had appointed the folloving committee to study the <br />Joint School joint school system in accordance with communication from Mr. E. 0. McCue, Jr.: <br />CoLamittee <br />Dr. William R. Smithey, Dr. Loren A. Thompson, and ivlr. William S. Hildreth. <br />A motion by Mr. Nash, seconded by Mr. Watson,. that this meeting be adjourned to <br />7:30 P. M. on March 6, 19./).7, was unanimously adopted. <br />President <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER, TIVIARCH 69 19,47. <br />The regular meeting which was adjourned to this date was held with the following <br />members present. Mr. Ada:as, Mr. Gleason, Mr. Nash, and 'IAr. Watson. <br />The City Mianagert s budget for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 1947 was pre- <br />sented and considered. A motion by Mr. Gleason, seconded by _`,Ir. Nash, that the <br />Budget <br />budget be referrea to a coiamittee consisting of the Chairman of the Finance Committee, <br />the Director of Finance, and the City Manager, to investigate ways and means of <br />balancing the same, was unanimously adopted. <br />On motion the Meeting adjourned. <br />77- Clerk <br />Pursuant to the following call: <br />Mr. R.
