THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: Closed session as provided by Section 2.2-371 I(A) of the Virginia Code BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR BY Jeanne Cox SECOND FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM - December 3, 2001 Council met in special session on this date with the following members present: Mr. Caravati, Mr. Cox, Mr. Lynch, Ms. Richards, Mr. Toscano. On motion by Mr. Lynch, seconded by Mr. Cox, Council voted (Ayes: Mr. Caravati, Mr. Cox, Mr. Lynch, Ms. Richards, Mr. Toscano. Noes: None.) to meet in closed session for the purpose of discussion of prospective candidates for appointment to City Boards and Commissions, and for the annual performance evaluation of the City Manager, as authorized by Section 2.2-371 i(A)(1) of the Virginia Code; for the purpose of discussion of the acquisition of real property located near Riverside Avenue for a public purpose, and for discussion of the disposition of a parcel of publicly held property on Cherry Avenue, where discussion in open session would adversely affect the negotiating strategy of the City, all as authorized by Section 2.2-341 l(A)(3)of the Virginia Code; and for discussion concerning the expansion of an existing business in the City where no previous announcement has been made of the business' interest in expansion, as authorized by Section 2.2-3771(A)(5) of the Virginia Code. COUNCIL CHAMBER - December 3, 2001 Council met in regular session on this date with the following members present: Mr. Caravati, Mr. Cox, Mr. Lynch, Ms. Richards, Mr. Toscano. AWARDS/RECOGNITIONS: Boxer Learning, Inc. Mr. Caravati presented the City's Business Recognition Award to Mr. Allen Cunningham of Boxer Learning, Inc. Mr. Caravati congratulated the Charlottesville High School's girls basketball team for winning the State AA championship. PUBLIC Mr. Bill Emery, 1604 Market Street, asked that Council look into the danger posed by domestic cats, and said they carry diseases and do environmental damage. Mr. Emery said Cotmcil should think about requiring that they be kept inside or on a leash.
