265 <br /> <br />Mr. Caravati said it may make it more complicated. <br /> <br /> Mr. Toscano said he is concerned about supporting the designation with no <br />opportunity for a public process. Mr. Toscano noted that Council has not heard a large <br />clamor for the designation except from preservation groups. <br /> <br />Mr. Lynch said he never heard anyone oppose the designation. <br /> <br /> Ms. Richards said that until Council is all of one mind regarding the designation <br />she does not feel we should move it forward. Mr. Richards said Mr. Toscano does have <br />a point about the recommendation emanating from the community. Ms. Richards said <br />she is not prepared to vote on the matter and would like to table it. She said she would <br />like the City to assist the advisory committee in accessing the information they need to <br />make a determination about this. Ms. Richards added that Council may want to wait for a <br />plan before pursuing it. <br /> <br /> Mr. Toscano suggesting including studying this designation as a part of the charge <br />to the advisory committee. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Richards, seconded by Mr. Toscano, the motion to table the <br />author&ation to send a letter endorsing designation of Jefferson School on the National <br />Historic Registry was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Caravati, Ms. <br />Richards, Mr. Toscano. Noes: Mr. Lynch. Absent: Mr. Cox. <br /> <br /> Ms. Richards said she is personally persuaded that historic designation is a move <br />Council will want to make. <br /> <br />Mr. Lynch said he supports having a public hearing on the issue soon. <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br /> Mr. Lynch asked if there is flexibility in the width of the asphalt street on the <br />Madison Avenue PUD, and Mr. Ron Higgins, Planner in Neighborhood Development <br />Services, said that parked vehicles could impede emergency vehicles if the width is less <br />than 18 feet. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Toscano, seconded by Ms. Richards, the following consent <br />agenda items were approved by the following vote, with Mr. Toscano abstaining from <br />voting on the Carlton Avenue and Monticello Road rezonings. Ayes: Mr. Caravafi, Mr. <br />Lynch, Ms. Richards, Mr. Toscano. Noes: None. Absent: Mr. Cox. <br /> <br />a. Minutes of Jannary 29 and February 4 <br /> <br />b.
