37 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: TRASH COLLECTION FEE INCREASE <br /> <br /> Mr. Caravati said he will not support the increase in trash fees, but instead would <br />have preferred to fred savings in City departmental budgets. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Richards, seconded by Mr. Cox, the ordinance entitled "AN <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING ATICLE V OF CHAPTER 26 OF THE <br />CHAP, LOTTESVILLE CITY CODE, 1990, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE <br />COLLECTION OF COMMERCIAL REFUSE BY INCREASING THE FEES FOR <br />PURCHASING DISPOSAL STICKERS AS SET FORTH IN SECTION 26-64" was <br />offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br />There were no matters by the public. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br /> Ms. Richards said the City and other localities have been successful in changing <br />the Commonwealth Transportation Board's policy to allow urban road funds to be used <br />for transit operations. <br /> <br /> Mr. O'ConneI1 said his understanding is that $200,000 will be allocated for transit <br />operations each year. <br /> <br /> Ms. Richards announced that the 2nd Lewis and Clark Festival will be held on <br />May 1 lth and, in conjunction with the Festival, visitors will be coming from the City's <br />sister City in Long Beach, Washington.
