This appropriation is conditioned upon receipt of <br />$1,000,000 from the Federal Transit Administration and the Virginia Department of Rail <br />and Public Transportation. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: AMENDING RESOLUTION APPROVING CONCEPT AND <br />PROCESS FOR REDEVELOPMENT OF JUVENILE AND DOMESTIC RELATIONS <br />COURT <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Toscano, seconded by Ms. Richards, the Resolution Amending <br />the Resolution Approving the Concept and Process for Redevelopment of the Juvenile <br />and Domestic Relations Court was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Cox, Mr. <br />Lynch, Ms. Richards, Mr. Toscano. Noes: Mr. Caravati. <br /> <br />To insure that the Charlottesville/Albemarle Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court <br />redevelopment project proceeds in a timely manner, City Council hereby resolves as <br />follows: <br /> <br />A. The firms of Moseley Architects and Wallace, Roberts and Todd (WRT) will be <br /> responsible for the following phases of the project: <br /> <br />1) WRT: design development and schematic design <br />2) Mosely: construction documents and construction administration. <br /> <br />B. Total architectural fees will remain at $650,000; project estimates, including <br /> soft costs, will remain at - $9.638 million. <br /> <br />C. Project schedule will remain at 130 weeks. <br /> <br />The City Manager and the County Executive, with the advice of City Council <br />and the Board of Supervisors, will appoint an advisory committee (much like <br />the original negotiating committee) to work with the architectural teams on the <br />final design~ Whereas the Board of Supervisors believes that significant <br />community involvement has been provided by input from the prior committee <br />and the completed public participation process, the Board will support this new <br />advisory committee provided that its participation will be completed within and <br />without delaying the defined project schedule. <br /> <br />Final design will be submitted to the Board of Architectural Review as legally <br />required with the understanding that City Council will not delay a final approval <br />of the project so that its completion within the project schedule is assured. <br /> <br />The footprint for the J&DR Court renovation/expansion shall remain <br />substantially as proposed; the programmatic elements will remain as proposed. <br />The project will include a two-tier parking deck and the location of the <br />building/structures in relation t the old jail will remain as proposed. The intent <br />of the design is to preserve and enhance the original historic fagade. <br /> <br />Go <br /> <br />The final design will insure that the first phase of the project does not hinder or <br />compromise the fiaure development ora jail preservation project, nor prevent <br />the creation ora pedestrian area/plaza adjacent to the old jail and Juvenile and <br />Domestic Relations Court. <br /> <br />H.
