MR. GRANQUIST STATED THAT THE CITY AND COUNTY <br /> <br />HAVE INVESTED WISELY IN THE BUREAU, <br /> <br /> MR, CONOVER COMMENTED ON MONTICELLO, SAYING THE CANDLELIGHT <br /> <br />TOUR IS A MARVELOUS ATTRACTION AND THAT UPON VISITING MONTICELLO, <br /> <br />HE WAS IMPRESSED. HE ALSO INDICATED THE FREE ADMISSION POLICY TO <br /> <br />LOCAL RESIDENTS IS AN EXCELLENT IDEA. <br /> <br />THE APPROPRIATION OF $20;0-0, FOR ~THE CENTEL RATE CASE ~WHICH <br />WAS OFFERED AT THE MEETING OF DECEMBER 7, 1981, WAS ADOPTED BY <br />TH.E FOLLOWING VOTE: AYES~ MR. NOES: NONE. <br /> <br /> COLE HENDRIX, CITY HANAGER, STATED THIS APPROPRIATION REPRE- <br /> <br /> SENTS THE COST OF UNDERGROUNDING STREET LIGHTS ON GLENN COURT AND <br /> ROUGEMONT AVENUE. MR. HENDRIX REPORTED THAT NORMALLY THE CITY <br /> PAYS A MONTHLY RENTAL FEE TO VEPC0 FOR STREET LIGHTS WITH THE <br /> EXCEPTION OF AREAS SUCH AS THESE THAT HAVE UNDERGROUND UTILITIES. <br /> HE COMMENTED THAT IN ORDER TO CONTINUE WITH THE PRECEDENCE THAT <br /> <br /> HAS BEEN SET IN THESE AREAS, THE ADDITION OF THESE LIGHTS NEED TO BE <br /> UNDERGROUND, MR. HENDRIX STATED THAT THIS APPROPRIATION IS A ONE <br /> TIME FEE. <br /> <br /> MR. CONOVER ASKED IF A REPORT HAD BEEN PREPARED AS TO WHAT THE <br /> CITY'S POLICY ON STREET LIGHTS. MR. HENDRIX INDICATED THERE HAD <br /> BEEN DISCUSSION, WITH NO INDICATION OF CHANGE AND A SUGGESTION <br /> <br /> THAT THE PLANNING COMMISSION REVIEW THE POLICY. MR. HUJA, DIRECTOR <br /> OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, SAID A REPORT WOULD BE GIVEN TO COUNCIL <br /> AT THE NEXT REGULAR MEETING. <br /> <br /> ON MOTION BY MR. ALBRO, SECONDED BY DR. HALL, THE FOLLOWING <br /> APPROPRIATION WAS OFFERED AND CARRIED OVER TO THE NEXT MEETING FOR <br /> CONSIDERATION: <br /> <br /> <br />
