HUD offices as expeditiously as practical. <br /> <br /> David Sheffield, a member of the School Board, made a presentation <br />to Council reviewing the major capital projects: sports complex, CHS <br />roof, auxiliary gymnasium and auditorium and the multipurpose room and <br />mat room (Alternate I). Mr. Sheffield (and other members of the School <br />Board) entertained questions from Council. <br /> <br /> Gene German, Director of the Parks and Recreation Department gave <br /> <br />a report to Council on the proposed Pen Park jogging trail. <br /> <br /> Mr. Charles Gaetz, representing the Charlottesville Track Club, <br />addressed Council expressing concerns about the trail's construction <br />as proposed by Mr. German. Mr. Gaetz outlined conflicts and adverse <br />situations which may arise if the t~ail-is buiZt as proposed. <br /> <br /> Council suggested that Mr. German and Mr. Gaetz meet to discuss <br />possible compromises that may accommodate both groups. <br /> <br /> Cole Hendrix, City Manager, reported to Council on the watershed <br />management program. He advised Council of a committee meeting (comprised <br />of both City and County officials) and outlined the areas of cost to <br />which the County has concerns. <br /> <br /> Mayor Buck requested a letter be sent to the County Board of <br />Supervisors informing them that Council is willing to discuss with the <br />Board of Supervisors the City's additional contribution to the payment <br />of watershed management costs. Absent: Dr. Hall. <br /> <br /> Council and the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors discussed <br />the Runoff Control Ordinance and its application and the Sharing of <br />costs between the City and County for the watershed management program. <br />City Council offered to negotiate a fair distribution of the watershed <br />management program costs.
