ORDINANCE: <br />AMENDING <br />SECTION 2?-3 <br />RELATING TO <br />UNLAWFUL <br />CONDITI©NS OF <br />WEEDS, SHRUB- <br />BERY, TREES <br />AND OTHER <br />VEGETATION <br />(2nd reading) <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: <br />AMENDING <br />SECTION 30.8-1 <br />RELATING TO <br />MEMBERS OF THE <br />SOCIAL <br />SERVICES <br />ADVISORY BOARD <br />(2nd reading) <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: <br />PURCHASING <br />PROCEDURES <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br />OTHER <br />BUSINESS <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTION 23-7 <br />OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, RELATING TO UNLAWFUL <br />CONDITIONS OF WEEDS, SHRUBBERY, TREES AND OTHER VEGETATIDN" which was offemed <br />at the meeting of November 15th was approved by the following vote. Ayes: <br />Mr. Buck, Mr. Conover, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter, Dr. Hall. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTION <br /> S0-8.1 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, RELATING TO MEMBERS <br /> OF THE SOCIAL SERVICES ADVISORY BOARD" which was offered at the meeting of <br /> November 15th was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Mr. Conover, <br /> Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter, Dr. Hall. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> Mr~ Wiley stated that the General Assembly had adopted state-wide <br /> purchasing procedures and the City's ordinance must comply by January 1. <br /> <br /> Mr. Conover moved the ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE <br /> <br /> OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, BY ADDING A CHAPTER NUMBERED 21.1, <br /> CONTAINING SECTIONS NUMBERED 21.1-1 THROUGH 21.1-$6, TO AMEND SECTION 2-2(b) <br /> <br />AND TO REPEAL ARTICLE X OF CHAPTER 2, OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, <br />1976, ALL RELATING TO THE CITY PURCHASING AGENT AND PURCHASING PROCEDURES," <br />Dr. Hall seconded the motion and the ordinance was carried over to the next <br />meeting. <br /> <br /> Mr. Darden Towe, representing Downtown Charlottesville, Inc., commended <br /> <br />the Charlottesville Firefighters on the excellent job done in response to the <br />tragic fire at Reid's Market. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix reported that, in response to a request by Council, the <br />architect had estimated that modifications to the stage at the high school <br />auditorium could take six to eight weeks to design and put out for bid, and <br />cost over $S00,000.
