<br />PRESENT: MR. DAVlS~ MR, RtNEHART~ MR, VAN YAHRES~ MR. VOGT AND MR. WRIGHT. ABSENT: NONE.

<br /> THE CLERK REPORTED THAT A SYNOPSIS OF THE CiTY AND SCHOOL BUDGETS FOR THE FISCAL
<br />YEAR COMMENCING JULY 17 1969 HAD BEEN PUBLISHED AND NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO BE HELD
<br />ON THIS DATE HAD BEEN GIVEN AS REQUIRED BY SECTION 19 OF THE CITY CHARTER. THE MAYOR
<br />ANNOUNCED THAT THE SCHOOL BUDGET WOULD BE CONSIDERED FIRST. A LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE
<br />ADDRESSED THE COUNCIL BOTH IN SUPPORT AND IN OPPOSITION TO THE PROPOSED BUDGET, A
<br />MOTION BY MR. RINEHART~ SECONDED BY MR. DAVIS THAT THE PROPOSED SCHOOL BUDGET BE
<br />REDUCED ~195~300.00, AND THE BUDGET BE APPROVED IN THE AMOUNT OF ~4~795~864,00 FOR THE
<br />FISCAL YEAR 1969-70, AND THE SCHOOL BOARD BE REQUESTED TO RE-SUBMIT ITS BUDGET SHOWING
