FIFE THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, THE THOMAS JEFFERSON PLANNING DISTRICT COMMISSION ON JANUARY <br />7, 1975, ADOPTED A RESELUTION DISAPPROVING THE ACTION OF PRESIDENT FORD IN <br />IMPOUNDING CERTAIN DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FUNDS, AND <br />URGING SUPPORT OF CONGRESSIONAL ACTION TO RELEASE SUCH FL~DS; AND <br /> WHEREAS, THE COMMISSION HAS REQUESTED THE CONCURRENCE OF THE GOVEPaNING <br />BODIES OF ITS MEMBER JURISDICTIONS IN THIS RESOLUTION; AND <br /> WHEREAS, THESE HUD FUNDS ARE VITAL TO THE O3NTINUED STAFFING AND <br />PLANNING OPERATIONS OF THE COMMISSION AND OTHER REGIONAL PLANNING AGENCIES; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> THAT THE CoUNcIL CONCUR IN THE AFOREMENTIONED <br /> ~ARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA, <br /> RESOLUTION ADOPTED BY THE THOMAS JEFFERSON PLANNING DISTRICT COMMISSION; AND <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, THAT THE COUNCIL URGE OUR REPRESENTATIVE <br /> IN CONGRESS TO SUPPORT HOUSE RESOLUTION 55, 56 AND 57 (ORIGINALLY INTRODUCED <br /> AS H. RES. 1491 IN THE 93RD CONGRESS) INTRODUCED BY CONGRESSMAN STARK OF <br /> CALIFORNIA TO PROVIDE FOR THE RELEASE OF SUCH HUD FUNDS; AND <br /> BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED THAT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION BE SENT TO THE <br /> HONORABLE J. KENNETH ROBINSON, MEMBER OF CONGRESS FROM THE SEVENTH DISTRICT <br /> OF VIRGINIA. <br /> <br /> ON MOTION BY MR. GILLIAM, SECONDED BY FRS.
