SCRIBNER FOR RECOMMENDATION. <br /> THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE 20OTH ANNIVERSARY COMMISSION MET WITH THE <br />COUNCIL TO DISCUSS THE NEED FOR A TOURIST INFORMATION CENTER AND MUSEUM,, THE <br />COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL ENDORSE THE NEED OF A TOURIST <br />CENTER AND MUSEUM BY APPOINTING A COMMITTEE SIMILAR TO THE ONE FOR THE COURT <br />HOUSE AND CITY HALL TO STUDY THE NEEDS, LOCATION~ AND METHOD OF FINANCING A <br />TOURIST CENTER AND HISTORICAL MUSEUM; AND THAT THE COUNCIL HAKE AVAILABLE TO <br /> <br /> THE ANNIVERSARY COMMISSION A PORTION OF THE PARKING LOT AT SEVENTH AND HARKET <br /> STREETS FOR A TEMPORARY TOURIST CENTER DURING t962. M <br /> <br /> THE LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE REPORTED THAT THEY HAD CONSIDERED THE MATTERS <br /> <br />BROUGHT BEFORE THE COUNCIL BY THE BAR ASSOCIATION ON' JANUARY <br /> <br />THAT THESE MATTERS ARE OF SUCH IMPORTANCE FOR THE CITIZENS <br /> <br />SHOULD NOT BE INVOLVED IN THEIR CONSIDERATION. THE COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED THAT <br /> <br />SINCE THE PUBLIC HEARING COULD NOT BE HELD AND THE DESIRED CHANGES DRAFTED ~/ITHIN <br /> <br />THE TWENTY DAY GENERAL ASSEMBLY LIMIT~ THAT THESE CHANGES NOT BE ACTED UPON AT THIS - <br /> <br />TIME, AND THAT THE BAR ASSOCIATION BE INFORMED THAT IF IT FEELS SUCH CHANGES ARE <br /> <br /> STILL ADVISABLE THEY SHOULD BE PRESENTED TO COUNCIL NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 15~ 1963, <br /> <br />~V/HICH WOULD ALLO~/ TIME FOR PUBLIC CONSIDERATION PRIOR TO THE 1964 SESSION OF THE <br /> <br />GENERAL ASSEMBLY.
