2O9 <br /> <br />LICENSE TAX ORDINANCE <br />CARRIED OVER <br /> <br />MATTER RE: SUPPLEMENT <br />TO CODE <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />PAYMENT DELINQUENT TAX <br />COLLECTION <br /> <br />WELFARE REPORT <br />PRESENTED <br /> <br />FULFILS HIS OBLIGATIONS~ CONNECTIONS BE ALLOWED TO THE CITY SEWER IN WAKEFIELD <br /> <br />WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED. <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE FOR IMPOSING AND COLLECTING LICENSES AND <br /> <br />TAXES FOR THE EXERCISE OF CERTAIN PRIVILEGES WITHIN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE FOR <br />T~ELVE MONTHS, COHMENCING THE FIRST DAY OF MAY~ 1964 AND ENDING THE THIRTIETH DAY <br />OF APRIL, 1965", WAS OFFERED BY MR. HOUNT~ SECONDED BY MR. LEE, AND CARRIED OVER <br /> <br /> TO THE NEXT MEETING FOR CONSIDERATION. <br /> <br /> ON MOTION BY MR. MOUNT~ SECONDED BY HR. SCRIBNER, HARCH 26~ 1964 AT 7:30 P. M. <br /> <br /> WAS THE DATE AND TIME SET FOR RECEIVING THE CITY AND SCHOOL BUDGETS AND THE SECOND <br /> READING OF THE LICENSE TAX ORDINANCE, <br /> <br /> THE CITY ATTORNEY STATED THAT IT HAD BEEN ALMOST FIVE YEARS SINCE THE CITY <br /> <br /> CODE HAD BEEN SUPPLEMENTED AND DUE TO NUMEROUS AMENDMENTS A SUPPLEMENT IS NOW NEEDED. <br /> HE STATED THAT HE HAS BEEN IN CONTACT WITH MR. SUBLETT OF HICHIE CITY PUBLISHERS <br /> CONCERNING THIS MATTER AND RECOMMENDED THAT A COMMITTEE BE APPOINTED TO INVESTIGATE <br /> THE FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS OF SUCH A SUPPLEMENT. HR. BOWEN STATED THAT HE THOUGHT THE <br /> PROJECT SHOULD BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE AMENDING THOSE PARTS OF THE CODE, SUCH AS ZONING~ <br /> WHICH HAS RECENTLY BEEN CHANGED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY. THE COUNCIL CONCURRED WITH <br /> THE FOREGOING RECOMMENDATIONS AND THE MAYOR APPOINTED MR. MOUNT, MR. BOWEN~ MR. SUMMERS <br /> AND MR. PONTON TO THE COMMITTEE, <br /> <br /> ON MOTION BY MR, LEE~ SECONDED BY MR. PONTON~ THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS ADOPTED <br /> BY THE FOLLOWING RECORDED VOTE: AYES: MR. HAGGERTY, MR. LEE~ MR. MOUNT~ MR. PONTON <br /> AND MR. S~RIBNER.
