F. WOOD ESTATE FROM R-1 RESIDENTIAL TO B-1 BUSINESS, A <br /> COMMUNICATION WAS PRESENTED FROM THE PLANNING COMMiSSiON RECOMMENDING THAT THE <br /> REQUEST BE DENIED. MR. WENDELL WOOD ADDRESSED THE COUNCIL AND REQUESTED PERMISSION <br /> TO AMEND TBE PETITION TO REZONE PART OF THE LAND B-1 BUSINESS AND PART B-0FFICE <br /> SHOP. SEVERAL RESIDENTS OF MEADOWBROOK HILLS ADDRESSED THE COUNCIL IN OPPOSITION <br /> TO THE REZONING, A MOTION BY MR. SCRtBNER~ SECONDED BY MR. HAGGERTY THAT THE <br /> PUBLIC HEARING BE CONTINUED TO THE NEXT REGULAR MEETING TO BE HELD AT THE COURT= <br /> HOUSE~ AND IN THE MEANTIME THE PLANNING ENGINEER AND CITY ATTORNEY MEET WITH THE <br /> PETITIONER AND A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE RESIDENTS OF THE AREA TO DRAW A DEFINITE <br /> PLAT TO CONFORM WITH THE REVISED REQUEST~ WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED. <br /> <br /> THE REQUES~ OF TEXACO~ INc. TO OPERATE A GASOLINE FiLLiNG STATION ON LONG <br /> STREET WAS AGAIN CONSIDERED. NO ONE APPEARED FOR OR AGAINST THE REQUEST, ON <br /> MOTION BY MR. RENNOLDS~ SECONDED BY MR. PONTON~ THE FOREGOING REQUEST WAS APPROVED, <br /> <br /> A COMMUNICATION WAS PRESENTED FROM MRS, jANE A, REID CALLING ATTENTION TO <br /> <br /> THE DANGEROUS ~NTERSECTION AT RUGBY ROAD~ EXTD. AND 250 BYPASS. THE CITY <br /> <br /> MANAGER ADVISED THE COUNCIL THAT THIS INTERSECTION IS BEING STUDIED IN CONNECTION <br /> WiTH THE WIDENING OF THE BYPASS. <br /> <br /> AN INTERIM REPORT WAS PRESENTED FROM THE COMMITTEE APPOINTED TO INVESTIGATE <br /> THE COMPLAINTS OF EXCESSIVE DUST AND NOISE FROM THE ALLIED CONCRETE COMPANY AND <br /> ORDERED FILED WITH THE MINUTES OF THIS MEETING, <br /> <br /> A REPORT WAS PRESENTED FROM THE STREET COMMITTEE STATING THAT THEY DID NOT <br />BELIEVE THE VEHICULAR TRAFFIC VOLUME AT 14T'H STREET AND GRADY AVENUE JUSTIFIES A <br />TRAFFIC LIGHT~ BUT THAT IT COULD BE JUSTIFIED~ ON A TRIAL BASIS FOR THE SAFETY OF <br />PEDESTRIANS~AND RECOMMENDED THAT A LIGHT BE INSTALLED PROVlDED~ THE STATE HIGHWAY <br />DEPARTMENT WILL GRANT APPROVAL~ ON MOTION BY MR. HAGGERTY~ SECONDED BY MR. <br />SCRIBNER~ THE FOREGOING REPORT WAS ACCEPTED, <br /> <br /> A REPORT WAS PRESENTED FROM THE STREET COMMITTEE STATING THAT THE PORTION <br /> <br />OF RIVER ROAD SOUTH AND NORTH OF SMITH STREET HAS NOT BEEN CONSTRUCTED TO MEET <br />CITY REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCEPTANCE AND CANNOT BE RECOMMENDED FOR ACCEPTANCE UNTIL <br />THE ~ORK tS DONE. THE COMMITTEE SUGGESTED THAT THE GRADING~ DRAINAGE AND PLACING <br />OF STONE BE DONE BY THE ClTY~ PROVfDED~ THE PROPERTY OWNERS AGREE TO PAY FOR THE <br />ACTUAL COST OF THE WORK° ON MOTION BY MR. SCRIBNER~ SECONDED BY MR. RENNOLDS~ THE <br />REPORT WAS ACCEPTED AND THE CLERK WAS INSTRUCTED TO ADVISE THE PROPERTY OWNERS. <br /> <br /> A COMMUNICATION WAS PRESENTED FROM THE PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDING THAT <br />THE REQUEST FOR REZONtNG THREE LOTS ON tSTH STREET~ N.
