THOMPSON HAS CONSCIENTIOUSLY AND WITH GREAT DEDICATION <br />SERVED ON THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION SINCE JULY~ 1948~ AND <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, DURING THESE EIGHTEEN YEARS HIS INTEREST IN AND KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD <br />CITY PLANNING HAVE GREATLY CONTRIBUTED TO THE PAST ORDERLY PROGRESS AND TO THE <br />COMPREHENSIVE FUTURE GROWTH OF OUR ClTY~ AND <br /> <br /> WHEREAS¢ BUSINESS COMMITMENTS HAVE NOW FORCED DR, THOMPSON TO RESIGN <br />EFFECTIVE JANUARY ]~ t967 <br /> <br /> NOW¢ THEREFORE¢ BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTES- <br />VILLE~ THAT THIS COUNCIL EXPRESSES ITS MOST SINCERE APPRECIATION AND GRATITUDE TO <br />DR. No ONE APPEARED FOR OR AGAINST THE PROPOSAL, <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 66 ENTITLED 'HEARING <br /> <br />OF APPEAL' OF ARTICLE XVl OF APPENDIX II OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, <br /> <br />19~5"~ WAS OFFERED BY MR. HAGGERTY~ SECONDED BY MR.
