<br />THE CITY RELINQUISH TITLE, BY ORDINANCE TO EIGHT FEET OF LAND ON WATER STREET ON WHICH THE
<br />REAR OF THE GILMDRE, HAMM ANO SNYDER BUILDING ENCROACHES. MR. ROBERT MuSSELMAN ADDRESSED
<br />THE COUNCIL ON BEHALF OF HIS CLIENT, THE PROPOSED PURCHASER OF THIS BUILDING, AND REQUESTED
<br />ACTION BY THE COUNCIL TO CLEAR THE TITLE TO THE ENTIRE BUILDING. MR. W. S. RDUDABUSH, JR.,
<br />A CERTIFIED SURVEYOR, ADDRESSED THE COUNCIL ON BEHALF OF MR. RICHMOND~S CLIENT AND STATED
<br />THAT THE EIGHT FOOT DISCREPANCY OCCURRED BECAUSE A SURVEY MADE IN 1895 ADDED THAT DISTANCE
<br />TO THE DEPTH OF THE LOT MEASURED FROM MAIN STREET WHICH WAS EIGHT FEET IN EXCESS OF THE
<br />LOTS AS ORIGINALLY PLOTTED IN 1818. THE CITY MANAGER RECOMMENDED THAT A THOROUGH STUDY BE
<br />MADE OF THIS MATTER BEFORE MAKING A DECISION. A MOTION BY MR. SCRIBNER, SECONDED BY MR. DAVIS
<br />THAT THE MAYOR APPOINT A COMMITTEE TO CONSULT WITH THE PLANNING COMMISSION AND MAKE A
<br />RECOMMENDATION ON THIS MATTER WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED. THE MAYOR APPOINTED MR. SCRIBNER,
<br />MR. DAVIS ANO MR. SUMMERS TO THIS COMMITTEE.
<br />FIRE CHIEF LIDNEL KEY ADDRESSED THE COUNCIL AND STATED THAT THE FIREMEN'S CONVENTION
<br />WOULD BE HELD AT COLONIAL BEACH NEXT WEEK, AND INVITED THE MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL TO BE
<br />THE GUESTS OF THE FIRE COMPANY AT THE CONVENTION.
