304 <br />This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from the date of its <br />passage, and all ordinances, or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are <br />hereby repealed. <br />Adopted by the Council December 21, 1942 <br />Ayes: Mr. Adams, Mr. Gleason, Pyr. N ne. <br />Clerk President <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REE14ACTING SECTION 77 OF THE CITY CODE <br />OF 1932 ENTITLED TIAUDITOR - WARRANTS FOR SALARIES AND WAGES <br />OF CITY OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES:T <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, that Section <br />77 of the City Code of 1932 be and the same is hereby amended and reenacted so <br />as to read as follows: <br />Sec. 77 Auditor - Warrants for Salaries and Wages of City Officers <br />and Employees. <br />Upon the last day of each month or not more than five days prior <br />thereto, the Auditor shall draw a warrant to each officer and employee <br />of the City who receives a fixed annual salary for a sum equal to one - <br />twelfth part of such salary. <br />The Auditor shall issue weekly a warrant for the amount of payrolls <br />submitted by the various departments for all employees receiving their <br />wages weekly, and the proceeds of said warrant shall be deposited in a <br />special account entitled Payroll Account. Checks to the several employees <br />for the amount of their respective wages less any deductions authorized by <br />the employee with the consent of the Auditor and any deductions required <br />to be made by the City on account of taxes shall be drawn, signed by the <br />Auditor and the Treasurer, and checks similarly signed shall be drawn for <br />the disbursement of amounts deducted as herein set forth. <br />This ordinance shall be in force from and after January 1, 1943 and all <br />ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. <br />Adopted by the Council December 21, 19J+2 <br />Ayes: Mr. Adams, Mr. Gleason, fir. Huff, <br />Mr. Dorris, and Mr. Mash. <br />Noes: None. <br />President <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 192 <br />OF THE CITY CODE OF 1932• <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 192 <br />of the City Code of 1932 be and the same is hereby amended and reenacted so as to <br />read as follows: <br />SEC. 192. Regulation for Burning of Trash, Debris, etc., and Bonfires. <br />It shall be unlawful for any person to burn or procure another to <br />burn any trash, brush, leaves, debris or other inflammable material on or <br />in the streets or sidewalks of the City of Charlottesville, and it shall be <br />unlawful to set fire to or procure another to set fire to any trash, brush, <br />grass, debris, or other inflammable material elsewhere than in the City <br />streets or sidewalks, within the City of Charlottesville, unless all reasonable <br />care and precautions shall have been taken by having cut and piled such <br />material or carefully cleared around the same to prevent the spread of such <br />fire to any property. It shall be unlawful for any person who shall have <br />kindled or maintained any fire to leave the same unattended. It shall be <br />unlawful to kindle or maintain any bonfire within the City of Charlottesville. <br />Nothing herein contained shall prevent the burning of trash, brush, or leaves <br />by City employees, while in discharge of their duties. <br />Any violation of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more <br />than $100.00 or by imprisonment for not more than 60 days, or by both such <br />fine and imprisonment. <br />This ordinance shall be in force from its passage. <br />Adopted by the Council March 15, 1943. <br />Ayes: <br />Noes: <br />Clerk <br />Mr. Adams, Mr. Gleason, Mr. Huff, and <br />Mr. Morris. <br />No e. <br />President <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />F� <br />1 <br />
