taxpayers as to him may seem proper and the Department of Taxation may <br />approve, and any such forms so prepared and furnished shall be supplied <br />by the Commissioner of Revenue to persons constituting such class or <br />classes in lieu of the forms supplied by the Department of Taxation, and <br />all such persons constituting such class or classes shall make out and <br />deliver to the Commissioner statements of tangible personal property on <br />such forms in lieu of the forms prepared ana furnished by the Department of <br />Taxation. <br />SEC. 150 SAME - LISTS OF VALUATIONS TO BE FURNISHED BY AND RETURNED TO <br />COMMISSIONER - PENALTY. <br />If any person shall fail within the time mentionea in this Chapter to <br />deliver the lists in the manner prescribed therein, or if any person <br />shall refuse to exhibit to the Commissioner of Revenue any property <br />listed or requirea by this Chapter to- be listed by him, in order that a <br />fair valuation thereof may be assesse, ne snail be fined not less than <br />five (45.00) nor more than one hunared (4100.00) dollars. <br />er <br />Adopted by tiie Council Dec. 16, 1946 <br />Ayes: Mr. Adams, Mr. Gleason, Mr. Nash, <br />Ir. Tebeil and Mr. Watson. <br />Noes: None. <br />6e <br />'President <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 25 OF CHAPTER 22 <br />OF THE CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY CODE OF 1945• <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 25 <br />of Chapter ;,2 of the Charlottesville City Code of 1945 relating to the duties of <br />policemen witn respect to lost or stolen property be and the same is hereby amended <br />and reenacted so as to read as follows: <br />SECTION 25. PROPERTY SUPPOSED TO BE STOLEN OR LOST. <br />Property coming into possession of a policeman, supposed to be <br />stolen or lost, snall be given to the officer in charge of the stGtion <br />house, accompanied by a report to the chief, stating all the circumstances <br />in connection therewith. <br />In the event any persoraLproperty be found by any policeman abandoned <br />on the streets or public places in the City, such property shall be brought <br />to the station house and an effort to ascertain and locate the owner of such <br />property shall be made. If after sixty nays snail nave elapsed from the time <br />such property is brought to the station house the ownership thereof has not <br />been ascertained, the Chief of Police shall proceed to sell such property at <br />public auction, after a notice stating a reasonable description of the said <br />property and the time and place of such sale shall have been published for <br />four consecutive days in a newspaper published in the City of Charlottesville. <br />The net proceeds of such sale shall be paid into the Director of Finance. <br />er <br />Adopted by the Council December 16, 1946 <br />Ayes: Mr. Adams, Mr. Gleason, Mr. Nash, <br />Mr. Tull anu Mr. Watson. <br />id o e s : N <br />resiaen <br />AN ORDNANCE AMEAi.,iAG ANL' REENACTING SECTION 1 OF CHAPTER 11 <br />OF TAE CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY CODE OF 1945. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Cnarlottesville that Section 1 <br />of Chapter 11 of the Charlottesville City Code of 1945 relating to fireworks be and <br />the same is hereby amended and reenactea so as to read as follows: <br />SECTION 1. FIREWORKS - DEFINITION - KEEPING - SELLING - DISCHARGING - <br />PENALTY. <br />Fireworks whenever used in this section, shall be held to mean any <br />sparkler, squib, rocket, firecracker, Roman candle, fire balloon, signal <br />lights, railroad track torpedo, flashlight composition, or other devices <br />or compositions used to obtain visible or audible pyrotechnic display. <br />No person shall have, keep, store, use, discharge, manufacture, sell, <br />handle or transport any fireworks, provided, however, <br />(A) That nothing in this section shall be hela to apply to the <br />possession or use of signaling devices for current daily consumption by <br />railroads, vessels and others requiring them. <br />F <br />1 <br />1 <br />
