ORDINANCE: <br />AMENDING NOISE <br />ORDINANCE <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br /> with Downtown Charlottesville Inc. was continuing in order to find <br /> a satisfaCtory alternative. Mr. Huja added that the directories on <br /> the Mall were being updated and hanging signs were being explored. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Gleason moved to deny the ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE <br />TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTION 31-179 OF THE CODE.OF THE CITY OF <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, TO PROVIDE SPECIAL SIGN REGULATIONS <br />IN THE DOWNTOWN ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN CONTROL DISTRICT," Dr. Gunter <br />seconded the motion and the ordinance was denied by the following vote. <br /> <br />Ayes: Mr. Buck, Mr. Conover, Mrs. Gleason, Dr.-Gunter, Dr. Hall. Noes: <br />None. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix explained that the Planning Commission had held a publi, c <br />hearing on the proposed changes in the noise ordinance and had worked <br />with the neighborhood associations. <br /> <br /> Mr. Con0ver moved the ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND <br />REORDAIN CHAPTER 16,1, AS AMENDED, OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, <br />1976, RELATING TO NOISE CONTROL," noting that he felt it was a positive step <br />forward and that he appreciated the effort made by so many people.
