Mr. Brunnon stated that he understood that the group needed a <br /> <br /> commitment from Council that they are willing to consider $4 million. <br /> Mr. Gatewood] stated that he and Mr. Buck in the meetings with the <br />Group have been in a way the spokesmen for the Council, and they felt <br />that the Council was committed to use some public funds, but the <br />question is. Gatewood and <br /> Mrs. O'Brien. Absent: None. <br /> <br /> The minutes of the meeting of April 16, 1979 were approved as <br /> presented. <br /> <br /> Mrs. O'Brien reported for the committee appointed to interview <br /> applicants for the position of Director of Finance recommended the <br /> appointment of Mr. Robert E. Sheets. The recommendation was <br /> seconded by Mr. Albro and adopted by the following recorded vote. <br /> Ayes: Mr. Albro, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Buck, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. <br /> O'Brien. <br /> <br /> An executive summary of the Traffic Study on the partial closing <br />of Rugby Road was presented as requested by Council after a six <br />month trial period. The City Manager informed the Council that a <br />more detailed report would be sent in a few days giving all the <br />turning movements and traffic counts for the Councils consideration. <br />He suggested that a public hearing be set to give all parties <br />concerned an opportunity to be heard. He stated that a formal <br />presentation as prepared by the staff would be made at the public <br />hearing. A public hearing was set for this matter on May 21st at <br />7:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> The Treasurer's List of 1977 Delinquent and Erroneous Taxes <br /> <br />was presented and referred to a committee composed of Mr. Gatewood, <br /> <br />Mr. Buck, Mr. Haden and Miss Maupin for recommendation. <br /> <br /> Mr. Gatewood reported that he and Mrs. O'Brien had met with the <br />acting director of finance and representatives of the City's auditing <br />firm and discussed a proposed contract for the coming year for the <br />City's annual audit. He stated that the auditors had said that if <br />it appeared for reasonable cause that the quoted fee would be <br /> <br /> <br />
