Walk <br /> <br />Presentation re: <br />Region X <br />Mental Health <br />and Retardation <br />Annual Report <br /> <br />Report re: <br />Virginia Municipal <br />League Annual <br />Meeting <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Appropriation - <br />Public Works <br />Projects <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Appropriation - <br />$22,566.00 - <br />Commonwealth's <br />Attorney Office <br /> <br /> The Council met in regular session on this date with the following <br />members present: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood, and <br />Mrs. O'Brien. Absent: None <br /> <br /> The minutes of the meetings of September 12th and September 16th <br />were approved as presented. <br /> <br /> Rev.~ Steve Hassmer, Associate Minister of the First United <br />Methodist Church, addressed the Council and presented plans for the <br />Annual Church World Service C.R.O.P. Walk to be held on October 30th. <br /> <br /> Mr. Robert Hodous~-addressed the Council and presented the report <br />from the Region X Community Mental Health and Retardation Services <br />Board. The report outlined the services provided in 1976-77, objectives <br />for 1977-78 and funding of the Mental Health Services Board. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fife presented a detailed report on the 72nd Annual meeting <br /> <br />of the Virginia Municipal League held in Willi.amsburg on September <br />17-20, 1977. The report covered the legislative program of the <br />league, the sessions on annexation and economic development and he <br />reported that. the 1981 league meeting would be held in Charlottesville. <br />He recommended that next year that more city representatives be sent <br />to the league meeting, that the City support the league in its <br />activities es~pecially its legislative proposal and that a committee <br />be established to prepare for the 19.81 league meeting. The Mayor <br />expressed appreciation to Fred Ferguson, Charlie May~, Francis Fife <br />and Sidney Rush for their efforts in bringing the meeting to <br />Charlottesville in L981. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Barbour the fo[lowing <br />resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br />consideration. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />that the sums hereinafter set forth be and the same are hereby <br />appropriated from the unexpended balance of the General Fund to the <br />respective accounts for the local public works projects listed <br />below: <br /> <br />Account Code Project Name Amount <br /> <br />11-30011 High School .Storage Building $ 41,000.00 <br />11-30012 Tonsler Park Recreation Building 50,000.00 <br />11-30013 Greenbrier School Heating System 30,000.00 <br />11-30014 High School Playing Fields 200,000.00 <br />11-30015 Street Repaving 510,000.00 <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr.Brunton, seconded by Mr. Gatewood the following <br />resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br />consideration. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville <br />that the sum of $22,-566.00 be and the same is hereby appropriated <br />from the unexpended balance of the General Fund to the Office of <br />the Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Charlottesville Account <br />No. 01-12040 for additional expenses of the operation of that <br />office. <br /> <br /> <br />
