W. <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Ordinance <br />Forty Year Lease <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Ordinance re: <br />Towing and <br />Storage Of <br />il~egially parked <br />Vehicles <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Ordinance <br />Reduction of <br />Water Consumption <br /> <br />Request to <br />reconsider site <br />of Highrise <br />for Elderly <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Fife the following <br />resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the American Business Women's Association has <br />duly applied for a permit to conduct raffles in compliance with <br />~17-19 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1976, as amended; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it has been determined that the American Business <br />Women's Association meets the qualifications as outlined in ~17-19; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />CharlottesVille that a permit be granted to the American Business <br />Women's AsSociation to conduct raffles in accordance with all the <br />provisions of ~17-19 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville for <br />a period of one year from the date of this resolution; and <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Council be <br />directed'to send a copy of this resolution to the Chairman of the <br />Ways and Means Committee. <br /> <br /> A communication was presented from the Planning Commission <br /> recommending that the application for a special permit to alter the <br /> cross sectional area of Moores Creek at 5th Street, S. W. be granted, <br /> for the following reasons. 1. There is adequate access to the site <br /> and little adverse impact on residential development in the area; and <br /> 2. This is an area of the City with great commercial potential. On <br /> <br />motion by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Brunton the following <br /> <br />resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville <br />that a special permit is hereby granted pursuant to ~31-120 of the <br />City Code for alteration of the cross sectional area of the flood-way <br />of the Moore's Creek on property designated as Parcel 2 on City <br />Tax Map Sheet 21-B located west of Fifth Street, S. W. at the <br />southern corporate limits; <br /> <br /> Provided, that such alteration shall be made in accordance <br />with the approved site plan, engineering drawings, grading plan and <br />other decomentation submitted by the owners of such property in <br />connection with Special Permit Application No. SP-77-8-9; and <br /> <br /> Provided further that such special permit shall further be <br />subject ot all general conditions for such permits as set forth in <br />Chapter 31, Article XX of the City Code. <br /> <br />An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br /> <br />SIGN A LEASE FOR A TERM OF FORTY YEARS OF CITY PROPERTY LOCATED AT <br /> <br />838-839 RIDGE STREET," was offered by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. <br /> <br />Fife and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTION <br /> <br />16-43.1(b) OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS <br /> <br />AMENDED, ESTABLISHING THE AUTHORITY OF THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO OBTAIN <br /> <br />TOWING AND STORAGE SERVICES FOR ILLEGIALLY PARKED VEHICLES," was <br /> <br />offered by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Brunton and carried over to the <br /> <br />next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO REDUCE WATER CONSUMPTION <br /> <br />BY PROHIBITING EXCESSIVE USE OF WATER AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR <br /> <br />VIOLATIONS," was offered by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Brunton and <br /> <br />carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />Mr. Fife requested that the counci-l-reconsider the site for the <br /> <br />proposed Highrise for the Elderly, since the he feels that single <br /> <br /> <br />
