314 <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Appropriation - <br />$60,000 for Tennis <br />Courts at Pen Park <br /> <br />Consideration - <br />Appropriation - <br />$1,448 - Health <br />Department <br /> <br />Appropriation re: <br />$459 Street <br />Lights <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Appropriation - <br />$140,000 - Rann <br />Preserve Property <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- <br />ville that the sum of $8,000 is hereby transferred from <br />expenditure account 01-91150 and reappropriated to expenditure <br />account 01-91160, and that the further sum of $4,500 is hereby <br />appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the general <br />fund to such expenditure account 01-91160; both such sums being <br />intended to be expended as a grant to the Monticello Area <br />Community Action Agency for use in assisting needy persons with <br />payment of winter heating bills in accordance with the terms of <br />a proposal heretofOre~made by such Agency to the Council. <br /> <br />MACAA was directed to present an evaluation of the program by <br /> <br />July 1st, however this was not adopted as an on-going program. <br /> The City Manager advised the Council that the Perry <br /> <br />Foundation has made a grant to the City in the amount of $60,000 <br />for additional tennis courts to be constructed at Pen Park and <br />requested that an appropriation be made in order to spend this <br />money. On motion by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Brunton <br />the following resolution was offered and carried over to the~ <br /> <br />next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- <br />ville that the sum of $60,000 is hereby appropriated from the <br />unappropriated balance of the Capital Projects Fund to expenditure <br />account 11-51060 for the installation of additional tennis <br />courts at Pen Park; Provided, however, that such appropriation <br />shall be subject to the receipt by the Capital Projects Fund <br />of a like amount from a private~donation. <br /> <br /> A communication was presented from Dr. Richard Prindle, <br />Director of the Health Department, requesting an appropriation <br />in the amount of $3,212 as the City's share of the cost of <br />an EKG machine and a microscope. On motion by Mr. Barbour, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunton the following resolution was offered and <br />carried over to the next.meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- <br />ville that the sum of $1,448 be and the same is hereby <br />appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the General <br />Fund to expenditure account 01-41010 as the City's share of the <br />cost of acquisition by the Albemarle-Charlottesville Health <br />Department for an electrocardiograph (EKG) machine and <br />microscope. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Brunton the following <br />resolution was adopted by the follOwing recorded vote. Ayes: <br /> <br />Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. <br /> <br />Noes: None. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- <br />ville that $459 be and the same is hereby appropriated from the <br />unappropriated balance of the General Fund to expenditure account <br />01-24040 for the installation of additional street lighting on <br />Lankford Avenue, Highland Avenue, Montrose Avenue, Otter Street, <br />Meridian Street and 8th Street, N. E. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Brunton the following <br />resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br /> <br />consideration. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- <br />ville that the sum of $140,000 is hereby appropriated from the <br />unappropriated balance of the Capital Projects Fund to expenditure <br />account 05-00520 for the purchase and development of the Rann <br />Preserve property; provided, that such appropriation is subject <br />to the appropriation of an equal amount by the Board of Supervisors <br />of Albemarle County; and provided further that such expenditure <br />shall be offset in part by anticipated revenues to the Capital <br />Projects Fund for such project of $70,000 from a grant from the <br />Bureau of Outdoor Recreation of the United State Department of <br />Interi'or. <br /> <br /> <br />
