Absent: None.

The minutes of the meeting of February 20, 1979 were

approved as presented.

MrS. Jane Moore addressed the Council on behalf of the
Charlottesville High School Neighborhood Association with
reference to the proposed sites for the Charlottesville
High School Football Field and Stadium recommended by the
Site Selection Committee. She stated that they were
disappointed that no member of the assocation was appointed
to membership on the Site Selection Committee even though
as residents most directly affected by at least two of the
committee's recommended sites. Mrs. Moore expressed several
other concerns of the association namely: 1. if the Nunley
site is selected how will it be affected by the planned
extension of McIntire Road through that area; 2. if the Nunley
site is selected what is the land acquisition cost; 3. what
affect will the overhead high tension lines have on the use
of the Nunley property; 4. wh±ch of the eighteen sites the
Site Selection Committee initially considered will be
given consideration by the consultant other than the current
practice field and the Nunley property; 5. will the
consultant be instructed to conduct an environmental impact
study and traffic survey; 6. will the views and
recommendations of the Charlottesville High School Neighborhood
Association be evaluated and weighed by the consultant prior
to, and in conjunction with his official report as to the
site selection of this complex; and 7. prior to any
decision on site selection will all findings determined by
the consultant and recommended by him be released or made
public before any land acquisition or work on this site is
negotiated? She also stated that the association asked the
City Council and the School Board to recognize the selection
of the current practice field at Charlottesville High School
as the site of the new complex is a less than desirable site
