She said AHIP is dedicated to serving <br />clients with respect, dignity and quality work, and to making sure any concerns are <br />addressed. <br /> <br /> Mr. Michael Masters, 2021 Hessian Road, referring to Archie’s Yogurt, said that <br />there is a failure in the City’s zoning ordinance. He said neighborhoods need protection <br />from by right buildings facing neighborhoods and there are no restrictions of public <br />access into neighborhoods from businesses. He said these need to be written into the <br />zoning ordinance. <br /> <br /> Dr. Brown asked if there is a stream between the businesses and the <br />neighborhood, and Mr. Masters said yes, but he was told by staff that it could be bridged. <br /> <br /> Mr. Adam Rogers, 912 Woodfolk Drive, a University of Virginia alumnus, asked <br />that Council pass a resolution in support of the living wage campaign urging the <br />University to pay a living wage. <br /> <br /> Mr. Peter Kleeman, 407 Hedge Street, said that the business community is the <br />only group being consulted about the trial mall crossing and plans for evaluating it. He <br />asked that others be involved so that everyone has a stake in the trial and that it can be <br />evaluated fairly and openly. <br /> <br /> Mr. Stratton Salidas, 110 Kent Terrace, asked that Council support the living <br />wage campaign, and that Council raise its living wage to $10.17 and that it hold a public <br />hearing about the living wage campaign. Regarding the Meadowcreek Parkway, he <br />asked that the money be put instead into biking and walking trails. He said there has <br />been no traffic study for several years, and he hopes Council will reverse their decision <br />about the Parkway. <br /> <br /> Mr. John Salidas, 104 Park Street, spoke in support of the living wage campaign. <br />He said he was in jail over the weekend due to his participation in the campaign, and he <br />met people in jail who previously worked for the University at poverty wages and are <br />now in jail. He asked that Councilors publicly and personally call President Casteen and <br />say the community supports the living wage. <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br /> Mr. Schilling removed the appropriation of funds for the Community Attention <br />Vehicle replacement from the consent agenda. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Caravati, seconded by Mr. Lynch, the following consent <br />agenda items were approved by the following vote.
