2 <br /> Mr. John Pfaltz, 1503 Rugby Road, thanked Council for lowering the tax rate. He <br />asked for information about the following: revised line item budget; job description of all <br />employees paid through the utility billing line item in 07 budget; and additional <br />information about line item units in 07 budget. Mr. Pfaltz said he will check his figures <br />from past comments and if he is wrong he will apologize. <br /> <br /> Mr. Peter Kleeman, 407 Hedge Street, said there has been a lack of opportunity <br />th <br />for public involvement regarding the 4 Street mall crossing except from the business <br />community, and others should be involved. He said that the location and time for the <br />Meadowcreek Parkway interchange committee meeting is not convenient. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ella Reese, Mason, 932 Charlton Avenue, said she feels she is being taken <br />advantage of and her house needs to be fixed as it is worse than it was before AHIP <br />worked on it. She said a lien has been placed on her house for substandard work. <br /> <br /> Ms. Nataska Sienitsky, 741 Nalle Street, an employee at Community Attention, <br />spoke in support of purchasing new vehicles for Community Attention. She said the <br />current vehicles are always in the shop. <br /> <br /> Mr. Raymond Mason, Cynthianna Avenue, passed out pictures of things that have <br />not been taken care of at 932 Charlton Avenue by AHIP and a listing of deficiencies he <br />said were identified by Amy Kilroy in Neighborhood Development Services. He asked <br />that Councilors take a look for themselves and help solve the problem. Mr. Mason said <br />th <br />that the new homes at 10 and Page are financially out of reach for people who live in the <br />neighborhood. <br /> <br /> Ms. Hamilton said she feels a mediator should be brought in to make sure <br />everyone’s voice is heard regarding the work AHIP has done at Charlton Avenue. <br />th <br />Regarding the homes at 10 and Page, Ms. Hamilton said that she was also concerned, <br />but has been told that one third of the homes were sold at market rate, and the remainder <br />were subsidized and have mortgages of $114,000. She said discussions are being held <br />about creating a subsidy for taxes in these situations. <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br /> Ms. Hamilton made a motion to approve the consent agenda, and Mr. Lynch <br />seconded the motion. <br /> <br /> Mr. Schilling aid he will not support the appropriation for the replacement of <br />Community Attention vehicles because the information he received last week shows that <br />other departments have saved money by purchasing used vehicles and he feels that <br />should be looked at city wide. <br /> <br /> The appropriation for Community Attention vehicles was removed from the <br />consent agenda. <br /> <br /> The following consent agenda items were approved by the following vote. Noes: None. <br /> <br />nd <br />APPROPRIATION <br />a. : $91,055.08 – Asset Forfeiture Funds (2 reading) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the City of Charlottesville Police Department and the Jefferson <br />Area Drug Enforcement Task Force (JADE) each receive a prorated share of forfeiture <br />funds based on cases investigated by the federal, state, and local authorities; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED <br /> by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia, that the sum of $91,055.08, which has been received from <br />federal and state agencies, is hereby appropriated as follows: <br /> <br />Revenue <br />Fund 105, Internal Order # 2000019 G/L Code: 441040 <br /> JADE State Forfeitures - $63,690.80 <br /> <br />
