I TRY TO SELL A GROUP OF PROPERTIES IN ONE DAY BECAUSE <br />IF YOU CAN GET EIGHT TO FIFTEEN TO SELL AT ONE TIME YOU GET A MUCH <br />BETTER CROWD AND MORE ACTIVE BIDDING THAN IN SELLING SINGLE PROPERTIES. <br />THE COST IS LESS FOR HANDBILLS, NEWSPAPER ADVERTISING AND AUCTIONEER. <br />I WOULD ALSO GIVE THE CITY ASSESSING OFFICER THE BENEFIT OF ANY <br />INFORMATION SECURED IN FILING THESE SUITS AND HELP YOU IN ASSESSMENT <br />MATTERS IN A GENERAL WAY, WITHOUT CHARGE, AS ( HAVE DONE IN THE COUNTY. <br />I THINK OUR REPRESENTATIVES IN THE LEGISLATURE SHOULD BE URGED <br />TO HAVE PASSED AT THE NEXT SESSION OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY ACTS FOR <br />THE CITY SIMILAR TO SECT. 58-1024 OF THE COUNTY WHICH WAS PASSED <br />FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE COUNTY OF ALBEMARLE AT MY SUGGESTION. BOWEN STATED THAT THE TOTAL <br />ACCEPTED - <br />INTAKE DAM ON MECHUMS COST OF THIS PROJECT WOULD BE $130,000.00 AND RECOMMENDED THAT AN <br />RIVER. <br />APPROPRIATION BE MADE TO COVER THIS WORK. ON MOTION BY MR. MICHIE, SECONDED <br />BY MR, SCRIBNER, THE CITY MANAGER WAS AUTHORIZED TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT <br />WITH WAITS-UNDERWODD, INC. FOR THIS CONSTRUCTION. ON MOTION BY MR. HALL ON THE 12TH DAY OF JUNE, 1957, WHO <br />SO ABLY SERVED AS SUPERINTENDENT OF PARKS AND CEMETERIES FOR THE CITY OF <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE SINCE APRIL, 1942, AND WHOSE LIFE AND WORK WERE EXEMPLIFIED <br />
