<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
<br />Charlottesville, Virginia, that the sums of $16,437.00, to be
<br />received as a grant from the Virginia Department of Criminal
<br />Justice Services, and $5,479.00, to be received as a grant
<br />from the Commonwealth of Virginia general fund, for a total of
<br />$21~916.00, is hereby appropriated to expenditure account
<br />11-230-032042 in the Grants Fund for the purpose of funding
<br />the Victim-Witness Assistance Program in the Office of the
<br />Commonwealth,s Attorney during the fiscal year 1993-1994.
<br />This appropriation is conditioned upon receipt of $21,916.00
<br />in state funding.

<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
<br />Charlottesville, Virginia, that the sum of $1,500.00, to be
<br />received as a grant from the Department of Motor Vehicles, is
<br />hereby appropriated to account number 11-270-041139, to be
<br />expended by the City Police Department in support of the
<br />Tinting Enforcemen~ Project. This appropriation is
<br />conditioned upon receipt of $1,500.00 from the Department of
<br />Motor Vehicles.

<br />$143,!64.04 - Drug Seizure Assets
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the Police Department of the City of
<br />Charlottesville has received $143,164.04, representing money
<br />obtained from the sale of assets lawfully seized by the City
<br />Police Department from persons subsequently convicted of drug
<br />related crimes; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, said funds have been deposited with the
<br />Treasurer of the City; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the federal policies authorize the City Police
<br />Department to receive and spend such proceeds provided the
<br />expenditure is on drug related law enforcement matters; now,
<br />therefore,
<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
<br />Charlottesville, Virginia that such $143,164.04 shall be
<br />appropriated to the following police expenditure accounts:

<br />g. RESOLUTION: Proclaiming CDBG Week
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the week of March 28 - April 1 has been
<br />designated as National Community Development Week; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City of Charlottesville is a participant in
<br />the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program which
<br />funds a myriad of physical programs such as sidewalk
<br />improvements, drainage improvements, handicapped access
<br />improvements, street improvements, and housing programs,
<br />including the Homeowner Rehabilitation Program, the
<br />Weatherization Program, the Downpayment and Closing Cost
<br />Assistance Program and the Housing Opportunities Partnership
