74 <br /> <br /> Council reconvened in open session and, on motion by Ms. <br />Waters, seconded by Ms. Slaughter, Council unanimously <br />certified that, to the best of eaCh member's knowledge (i) <br />only public business matters lawfully exempted from open <br />meeting requirements by Virginia law were discussed in the <br />executive meeting to which this certification resolution <br />applies, and (ii) only such public business matters as were <br />identified in the motion convening the executive meeting were <br />heard, discussed or considered by the Council. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS: BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Waters, seconded by Ms. Slaughter, Ms. <br />Peggy Van Yahres was reappointed and Ms. Pryor Hale was <br />appointed to four-year terms on the Board of Architectural <br />Review. These terms will expire on January 31, 1996. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Waters, seconded by Ms. Slaughter, Mr. <br />Lawson Drinkard was reappointed and Ms. Ida Lewis was <br />appointed to three-year terms on the Charlottesville- <br />Albemarle Airport Commission. These terms will expire on <br />December 1~ 1994. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Waters, seconded by Ms. Slaughter, Mr. <br />Juandiego Wade was unanimously appointed to a three-year term <br />on the Urban Design Committee. This term will expire on July <br />31, 994. <br /> <br />President 1~k ~ <br /> <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER - February 18, 1992 <br /> <br /> Council met in regular session on this date with the <br />following members present: Rev. Edwards, Ms. Slaughter, Mr. <br />Toscano, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. <br /> <br />~INUTES <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Vandever, seconded by Ms. Waters, the <br />minutes of the February 3rd meeting were unanimously approved <br />as presented. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Ms. Jane McGeehan, 2111 Morris Road, Vice President of <br />the Virginia Discovery Museum, gave Council an update of <br />admissions and fund raising activities for the Museum. <br />Admissions are up by 12% in the first quarter of the current <br />fiscal year and a goal of raising $104,000 has been set. Ms. <br />McGeehan presented a check for $12,500 as repayment of a loan <br />by the City to the Museum, noting that the remainder of the <br />loan will be repaid in June. <br /> <br />REQUEST: DOGWOOD FESTIVAL - USE OF MCINTIRE PARK AND FEE WAIVER <br /> <br /> Mr. Dan Parks, representing the DogwoOd Festival, <br />requested that Council allow the Festival to use McIntire <br />Park April 14 through 26 and waive certain fees as has been <br />done in the past. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Vandever, seconded by Ms. Waters, <br />Council unanimously approved a resolution allowing use of <br />McIntire park for the Dogwood Festival and waiving certain <br />fees. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the 43rd annual Dogwood Festival will take <br />place from April 14-26, 1992~ and <br /> <br /> <br />
