<br /> Mr. Huja stated that HUD required that annual goals be submitted for
<br />the Housing Assistance Plan in order to remain eligible for CDBG funds.
<br />Approval of the goal' had taken place previously, but the fiscal year was
<br />changing in order to correspond to the federal fiscal year (October 1
<br />through September 30).

<br /> Mr. Conover moved, Dr. Gunter seconded, and the annual goal was
<br /> unanimously approved by. Council.

<br /> The $S.8,000 appropriation to purchase land at 9.20 W. Main Street was
<br />approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Mr. Conover, Mrs. Gleason,
<br />Dr. Gunter, Dr. Hall'. Noes: None.

<br /> The $4,4S3 appropriation for litter control projects was approved by
<br />the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Mr. Conover, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter,
<br />Dr. Hall. Noes: None.

<br /> The $1,002,1S0 for the Job Training Partnership Act was approved by the
<br />following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Mr. Conover, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter,

<br /> Mr. Hendrix explained that the $25,000 would be used to match the
<br />$25,000 appropriated by the County .and $1S,000 appropriated by the State to
<br />build a fire training center..
<br />
<br /> Captain Ben Powell, from the Fire Department, stated that the County
<br />money had already been appropriated.
<br />
<br /> Mrs. Gleason moved, Dr. Gunter seconded, and the appropriation was carried
<br />over to the next meeting.
<br />
<br /> BE I.T RESOLVED by the. Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia,
<br /> that the sum of $25,000.00 is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated
<br /> balance of the Capital Improvements Fund to expenditure account 05-22030 as
<br /> a further contribution to the Jefferson Country Firefighters Association to
<br /> aid in the construction of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Fire Training Center.

<br />it and,report back to Council.

<br /> Mr. Huja explained that the owners of the property Wished to separately
<br />sell or lease the structure in front of the property and thus a special permit
<br />was needed to allow for 'increased density.
<br />
<br /> Dr. Hall moved, the Resolution Amending Special Permit':Resolution Adopted
<br />May 16, 198:3, Mrs. Gleason seconded the motion and'the resolution was un-
<br />animously approved.
<br />
<br /> B'E IT RESOLVED by the Council of...the City of Charlottesville, Virginia,
<br />that the resolution adopted May 16, 1983, granting a special permit for use
<br />of the property at 1301 ~ertland Street at a density of. 24 units per acre
<br />is hereby amended to permit a density of 30 dwelling units per acre; provided,
<br />that the maximum number of dwelling units permitted-shall remain at 44. This
<br />amendment is occasioned by the fact that a portion of the property has been
<br />s.ubdivided and reserved for office use, thus increasing the-density on the
<br />remaining tract.
